Provided by YP.comWe made our reservation well in advance of our quarterly trip to Duke to make sure we'd have a wheel chair accessible room. When we got there it was being used by someone else, and there was nothing they could (or would) do! The person on duty called the manager and they tried to get us to stay in another room if they would carry in a shower chair for the bathtub. Needless to say, that is useless when you can't get in the room to start with. They would not compensate in any way for this, and a wheel chair will not fit into one of their regular bathrooms. We ended up staying next door and found we had a much better experience there where the rooms were on the first floor and the restaurant was a few feet away. Never again will we stay at University Inn!

Provided by YP.comGreat, friendly staff. They were helpful with getting our rooms reserved when we were unsure of how many days we needed. The rate goes down after a couple of days and the staff was quick to help us with that adjustment.
The breakfast area was clean and while it didn't give a full spread, it was wholesome and balanced. The orange juice was a big hit with our gang. There was no restuarant in the inn, but the hotel next door was accomodating, as well, you could walk to Duke Hospital's Cafeteria.
The rooms were adequate (we had the suite). The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms clean.
Location was pivotal and an easy walk to the VA hospital and Duke (less than 100 yards). That was a big help not to worry about parking and traffic during an emotional time.
The staff made the hotel for me. GREAT folks that helped us during some very scary days in our family.
