Provided by YP.comThe hospital is disorganized and there is no control! Doctors don't communicate with each other and nothing is passed on to the family members. All the nurses are worried about is being pretty. ICU uses restraints to prevent patients from using call light epically when they are short staffed! They use threats of restraints constantly as a means of a way to control the patient. When visitors aren't allowed in and the floor is closed to everyone except staff, they flirt with each other and gossip! You had better not bother them during that time or they will take it out on you the rest of the shift! They are rude, snotty, and absolutely show no empathy to the patient! I am suprised the State of Indiana hasn't closed the hospital yet! This would be the last place I would go if seeking medical treatment. I would rather die then go back!

Provided by YP.comNo coordination between hospital staff and doctors/surgeons. My family member has laid there in pain for 3 days before being able to even see the assigned doctor, who when finally contacted, was not even aware of her case. Plenty of lip speak during the day from the staff and so called nurse/patient advocates but no follow through from them to insure that actual care is on track and progressing. It's a good thing this is a religious affiliated hospital as it will literally take God's intervention to receive care here.

Provided by YP.comVery unprofessional staff. Hospital is poorly run. I wish it wasn't so but I go to Chicago for all of my care.

Provided by YP.comI don't like to leave bad reviews but frankly, as of this day, I can't get over how dirty the floors were in the ER. Twice in November of 2014 i had time to scrutinize and contemplate the floors and oh my! Dirt and traces of blood were on the floors, right were they treat patients. Absolutely filthy! I checked the corridor and same thing. I don't think they ever clean the floors over there and sanitize the place. Beware! You don't know what kind of disease you're going to catch while waiting. Now, Every time I drive by this hospital thats's the only thing i think of, really sad. I am repulsed by it,.

Provided by YP.comThe WORST emergency room I have ever seen! The very tall and clearly overweight guy is a real jerk and shouldn't be in the medical field. The doctors sat behind the desk most of the time talking about what kind of relationships the like. Don't ever go to this ER!!!

Provided by YP.comDid not call me back after leaving multiple messages for the doctor. Did not provide alternatives. Denied medical treatment.
When I tried to refill a prescription, I left a message for the nurse on a Monday, one of two days my doctor is available at this location. On Wednesday, I was in the area and called again. I never received a call back for either occasion. So, I went to the facility and spoke to the nurses who told me they received the Wednesday message but had no record of Monday's message, implying I was lying. The doctor would not be in again until Friday when I would be out of town. After further expressing my frustration they finally offered up an alternative to get the prescription from the doctor's Hammond location. They couldn't promise me anything but in the end I did get the refill. Recently, I have had to cancel my follow up visit due to training in Texas for my new job. I was also in the process of moving for my new job so when they told me the next available appointment was 2 months away, I reiterated that I would be in a new area and would have a new doctor by then. For this reason, they denied me from refilling my prescription, acting as if I was avoiding seeing the doctor. I called numerous times the days following to see if there had been any cancellations. There were none. I asked if there was another doctor I could see and they said no. So, I tried getting an appointment with a different doctor/facility. They would not help me either since I explained that I was unable to follow up with my original doctor at Franciscan St. Margaret. I even went to a doctor who has prescribed me the same medication in the past, and when she consulted the St. Margaret facility they denied her from giving me the refill. The nurse at St. Margaret called me (without the least bit of empathy) to tell me it was denied. When I asked why, she said it was because I canceled my appointment. I explained why I had to do this multiple times and they still don't get it. It is nearly impossible to get an appointment with a doctor and even more impossible to get a nurse to call me back. I was upset on the phone and the nurse hung up on me. When I called back, she instantly hung up on me after seeing my caller ID. I left a complaint with the facility manager as well as the doctor who made me run blood tests and still couldn't prescribe the medication to me all because I had to go to a 7 day training course in Texas. I am a hard working successful career woman who supports a stay at home dad and two kids. This facility has consistently treated me like a 2nd class citizen, denying me treatment and refusing to communicate with me.

Provided by YP.comMy brother shows all outward signs of having had a stroke but the doctors cannot find it? On Oct 7, 2013, he was admitted unconscious after a fall down a flight of stairs head first. Anyone who has visited says he has all the appearances of having had a stroke. Only able to talk out of right side of mouth. Unable to use left side. Uses right hand to move left arm. Unable to stand and walk due to left side weakness. He has a history of epilepsy. He has no insurance. I am in another state and cannot get the neurologist to call me even though my brother has given permission and given me a password. We are being told that they can find nothing medically for his condition and they think he is faking it. They want to discharge him (Oct 24. They clearly tell anyone who talks to them that they won't run anymore tests because there is no one to pay for them. And now I find that the neurologist has signed off on him as finding no medical reason to keep him. There is no facility willing to take him. He has to climb stairs to get to his apartment. They said they will call the police to have him removed from the hospital if he does not leave on his own. How is he going to do that!

Provided by YP.comdo not ever go here for emergency treatment, I am blind in one eye because I made the wrong decision. was admitted, pumped full of steroid for 3 days, in the meantime if diagnosed properly by a rs specialist, I would be able to see today. they must be short of patients with insurance another time I went there I was diagnosed with pneumonia and they wanted to admit me, I refused, went to see my own doc the next day, I just had the flu, the next time I will make sure I make it to ingalls even if I am having a heart attack, lol. I would give this hospital no stars
