Provided by YP.comI have been going to WOA since they first opened in 2010. A young couple owns the business and they are very customer focused. WOA has the newest water toys that are on the market. I checked over all the items I wanted to rent prior to renting with Jason, the own, to make sure there were no previous damages. Also, Jason walked through the proper way to handle the SUP's and after that, it was off for a weekend of fun. I love this shop and the people who run it. I wish them all the best success with there business and look forward to visiting them every year, Check them out, you won't regret it!

Provided by YPmobileWildwood outdoor adventures is a great place with great service and great boards. I went there to look into stand up paddle boards and they were very helpful. They took my wife, two kids and me out to the lake and we demo'd a bunch of boards to find the one we liked best. Super friendly, helpful and their shop is awesome too. It was like I was on the islands. The kids loved the sand out front and the shells they had all over. A little piece of the islands in the northwoods. I will go there again for sure.

Provided by YP.comWilildwood Outdoor Adventures ("WOA") is a watersports rental and sales shop located in Northern Wisconsin. TThey rent all kinds of items: standup paddleboards, kayaks, canoes, towables and more. Our experience was with paddleboard rentals.
We rented two (2) paddleboards for a week, including paddles and leashes. The total cost was nearly $1,000, which included a $60 charge for delivering and picking up the paddleboards. We were upsold on the boards and the paddles when we went in to rent the boards, however, renting the standard boards would've still been around $850 -- extremely expensive. There are other shops in town with weekly rentals at around $450. Can't compare quality of the equipment or service because we didn't patronize them.
I would highly recommend taking pictures of whatever you rent from WOA when it arrives, and when you return it. Initially, the owner, Jason, called to tell me that one of the boards was cracked and given that he had seen a trampoline raft in our lake when he dropped off the boards, and because of that, he knew that one of us had jumped on the board from the raft. That did not happen. He also indicated that there was significant chipping and other damage to both boards. Long story shorter, he then told us that we could buy each board for full retail less one day's rental. That "price" was more than the boards are currently selling for (delivered) online. We do not believe we caused any significant damage or marking to the boards. Anything that was there was the result of normal usage. When my husband and brother went to the store to discuss his allegations, he completely backed off the jumping off the trampoline story, because there was no crack in the board.
He also indicated that he wanted to charge us a surcharge for removing a few weeds from one of the leashes. When told that we weren't aware that was required or we would've done it, his response was: "it would take me hours to tell you everything you need to do and we don't have time for that". Well, if you don't have time to tell me, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to know. If you rent from WOA, make sure you understand everything that needs to be done, and if you have any questions at all, ask. They are extremely expensive and given that they have all your credit card information, you're at their mercy. We were not at home when the boards were picked up so we have no way of knowing whether the boards were damaged by the folks picking up the boards.
We ended up agreeing to pay extra for damage to the boards that we do not believe we caused. So all told, nearly $1,200 to rent two paddleboards for a week. When the credit card bill came through, they had charged more than the agreed upon amount. They are not honest nor reputable. I believe that when they first dropped off the boards, they scoped out our home, the boats, the water toys, and figured we were an easy mark. As I said, since they have your credit card information, they can charge whatever they want as evidenced by what they actually did.
Wildwood Outdoor Adventures is a small mom & pops business. It is our goal to make sure that everyone who comes through our door leaves haply. As we all no sometimes this may not happen. We are sorry that ClarkeER feels this way about our business & we definitely did not intend or want an outcome like this, but there are two sides to every story. Wildwood Outdoor Adventures (WWOA) rents SUPs for as little as $25/Day or $175/Week for Kids & $30/day or $210/week for Adults. We do have many different options of SUPs and pricing does range. Upgrades are available by customers choice only. We deliver & Pick-up, charges vary depending on distance. We are always happy to take the time and go over all details with you, weather it be pricing, instructions, SUPs do's & don'ts, delivery, and any other questions you may have. When we showed up to pick up ClarkeER's Expoy SUPs they were laying out on concrete(Not a good combo with an epoxy board) Prior to moving these boards from the concrete to our vehicle we did take pictures of the SUPs due to the significant damage done. The damage done was NOT the result of normal usage. We could not send the boards back out into our rental fleet until they were repaired due to us not wanting to water log the SUP's which would ruin them indefinitely. To explain our damage fees... We were not able to rent out these 2 SUP's for 3-Days each at $60.00/day, when they were already reserved to go out. We also have time & material cost on repairs. The damage fees that we charged ClarkeER was less than what it actually costed WWOA. ClarkeER also had stated that WWOA had charged their card for more than what was agreed upon. This is however not true, ClarkeER did not want to pay the tax on what they agreed upon and disputed their charge. As for the fee for weeds as indicated by ClarkeER, we do not charge for that, we instead tried to educate ClarkeER NOT on Weeds, but Eurasian Watermilfoil which is an Invasive species that we want to make sure does not get transferred from lake to lake. Assumptions were also made by ClarkeER that we scoped out their home, boats, water toys and figured they were an easy mark, which is NOT true. We as individuals and also being a small family owned business would never do that. We strive on having returning customers not mad ones. Due to WWOA wanting to avoid any other situations like this in the future we have brought a fleet of SUPs in that are high performance, lightweight, & very durable SUPs for 2014.
