Was in a car accident. Highway Patrol said car MUST be towed immediately and they called this company. SC Highway Patrol printed out a "Towed Vehicle Report" and presented it to the tow truck driver and me at the accident scene.



Three days later my insurance company called. Stated they needed to move the car to another facility to do the estimate, but GRANT BODY SHOP refused to release the car. I called Grant's Body Shop and the female I spoke with said they "knew NOTHING about the car" [=A LIE] and "Cannot release the car until the owner authorizes it. Until now WE COULD NOT CALL YOU BECAUSE WE HAD NO IDEA WHO THE OWNER WAS." [=A LIE] She denied receiving a Towed Vehicle Report. She said, "Your car is a total loss."



My insurance company sends an adjuster out to Grant Body Shop but cannot do a complete appraisal until putting it on a lift. Car still needed towing to "an in-network company." Must release the car yet again for the same tow. Another nightmare. (And the car was not a total loss.)



Conclusion: Grant's is THE LAST company for my collision work. = It's your car and your money. Like dealing with a barking, inept female? =Grant's is your kind of place!!!

I wanted to use Grants for my truck. Had insurance adjust the truck called Grants didnt want to fool with it b/c he didnt think they allowed enough and wanted me to pay the extra out of pocket instead of getting with the insurance company to pay the extra if needed. sounds screwy.
