Was told to trust the 200 point inspection. It is not worth the paper it's written on. Car arrived needing an alignment , new caliper, left front speakers don't work, front axle boots are leaking gear oil, key doesn't open car remotely, came with an uncut second Key I had to take to Home Depot, wipers don't work, trim pieces are falling off in the car. Passenger door doesn't stay open. All these things were marked complete and in working condition on the check list. Now I have had 3 service engine lights on and have only driven the car 40 miles. Engine has burning oil from leaky gasket that I was told was replaced at 60k miles.

I confronted them about these issues and they refused to take care of them stating I was being dishonest or the shipping company was to blame. This was after I had an independent party inspect it. They did everything possible not to be helpful. If anyone is going to purchase from them get a third party inspection!! They did everything to dissuade me from getting one and now I know why. These guys are the reason used car salesmen have such a bad reputation. I have contacted the better business bureau and I am filing lawsuit as well!

Steer clear!!!!

My wife and I recently purchased a Land Rover Discovery from Marquis. They presented themselves as one of the premier Rover specialists in the country. We paid the full asking price for the car as it appeared to be in very good condition and we trusted Arthur and Luigi. Within 1 week of taking the car home, we found the shaft on keys would literally break off in the ignition, the rear suspension had a leak, and the instrument panel was loose. We then took the car to Rover Special Vechicles in RI and found that there were many other concerns with the car. Arthur and Luigi had said they put the car through a rigorous 200 point inspection, but it was clear that this was either not done, or was done poorly. We are now looking at spending thousands of $'s to get the car in proper working condition and when we approached Marquis with these issues, they refused to take any responsibility. If you are considering purchasing from Marquis, I highly recommend you have a certified Rover specialist take a good look at the car first.
