The contractor gave $3000-$3500 estimate to redo my cement driveway to asphalt. I gave them exact details, that my driveway settled 2-4 inches. They show up unannounced a month after giving the estimates and started digging up my driveway without any forewarning or permission. Tells me they've never seen a driveway as thick as mine and will cost me upwards of $4500. As they were digging up I saw my drive way was about 4 inches thick, industry standard. Bills me $4700 and tells me I agreed to $5000. If increased cost is justified, then this is bait and switch. They should have told me honest upwards estimate from the start.
