I would highly recommend Martin Tree Service! I received a quote quickly which was lower than another quote. The 2 workers, Zach and Andrew came out and did an amazing job! They were very polite, cut up the wood that I wanted and cleaned up the yard from chips and debris. They were very hard workers and made quick work out of the job! Very refreshing to have such polite and kind men that worked so hard! Thank you so much Zach and Andrew!!!

For over 20 years Jeff Martin and I have been competitors. We often bid on the same jobs, sometimes he gets them, sometimes I get them. That’s business. Over the years I even recommended Jeff to people if I couldn’t handle a particular tree. That’s also business.

Recently, Jeff and I bid on a job and I left a sealed bid with the owner’s name on the envelope at the front door. There was no identification on the envelope from my company. It was a sealed plain white envelope addressed to the property owner. I drove around the bock to visit another property but could still clearly see the property where I left the sealed envelope.

I watched Jeff drive up, take the envelope off the property, open it and photograph my bid with his phone. He stuffed the envelope in his pocket, went back to his truck to write up his own bid, which is where I confronted him, “How dare you open a letter that’s not addressed to you, you thief!” Martin said, “I’m so sorry, I was curious what was in the envelope. I’ll put it back. It’s all a mistake; I didn’t mean to take it.”

Jeff, you’re a liar. You knew very well what you were doing. You meant to take my bid, the only mistake you made was getting caught. How many other times in the past 20 years did you do the same thing?

By the way, the Ephrata Police know what you did and are still watching you. You brought this on yourself. Have a nice day.

Call anybody else but Martin. They ruined my trees. All the owner knows how to do is ride around in his bucket truck and cut the top half of trees off. When I asked him why, he said oh, it'll grow back. My 6 year old could do better.

Get everything in writing, clearly, or Jeff will screw you over! If there is any amendment or change in the job, make sure to put that in writing also. He is unethical and dishonest.

From start to finish my experience with Martin Tree Service was great! I spoke with the owner about grinding several stumps we had in our front yard. Based on their size he gave me an extremely fair price and much to my surprise, his team had come out later that day and took care of the stumps. My husband and I were very pleased with how the job was completed. We also had the owner come out and give us a quote on removing a large pine tree from our backyard. Within just a few days I had the quote in my mailbox and it gave me the options I had requested. His pricing was very affordable and we will be using Martin Tree Service for this job because of the service and over all wonderful experience we had with the owner and employees.

I should have known better than to trust a company that quotes prices over the phone without seeing the job first. What I got was a very poor job that I now have to hire someone else to fix. Stay away from this guy.

As the owner of Martin Tree Service, I go to each job to look at it first and provide a proposal to the customer of what the job will cost. We wait until the customer gives us the go ahead before we proceed with any work. By looking at every job first, we as a company know what equipment to send out to properly complete the job, and you as a customer know what to expect for the price. Stump grinding is one exception to this - we often price stump grinding jobs over the phone if the customer knows the diameter of the stump, since we have the same piece of equipment perform the job no matter what the size of the stump is. By knowing the diameter, we have a good indication of how long the stump grinding job will take, and we can give an accurate price based off of the size. Our stump grinding does not include clean up, and we make our customers aware of this. The only other exception is sometimes customers need the work done right away, and they are unable to wait for an estimate first (for example, there may be a tree that, after a storm, lost a limb that is stuck up in the tree, but the customer wants it done quickly because they are hosting a big event within a few days). In this case, we get details of the situation from the customer so we can determine the proper equipment to send out, and the customer is aware of the hourly rate we will be charging for that equipment. We only do this in certain situations, when it is in the customer's best interest to do so, and when the customer agrees to.
