Provided by YP.comLike others have said the two people who manage the campground are just plain nasty, they don’t have the personality to be working with the public. That could explain why they aren’t usually full even on holiday weekends. As if dealing with them wasn’t bad enough we also had to deal with no fresh water for most of the day, and a gray water pond in our site. We were told that the gray water system was failing and when another camper at a higher elevation dumped their gray it would come back up the pipe on sites with a lower elevation, GROSS. They said there was nothing they could do because the system needed to be dug up and replaced. With so many campgrounds out there that appreciate your business why camp at Wolf Den.

Provided by YP.comI was so turned off by one little thing that I didn't investigate any further. Went to deliver a gift to a friend who stays there, and I was told I would have to pay $7 to enter the park, even if I walked in. They said it had something to do with liability, etc. Garbage. If that were so, then you would have to pay to enter anywhere, or any business. (Been to law school, so I think this is true).

Provided by YP.comMy parents brought me to this campground as a child so I thought it would be a cool idea to bring my own daughter to the same campground. Keep in mind this campground has been around since the 1950s. It's not a resort so please do not compare it those that are. This is a great place for good old fashioned camping, where you would have to think about how to entertain yourselves. This is now my daughter's new favorite place to camp. She loved the fact that the available activities weren't so regimented like in other campgrounds. She could play games whenever she wanted outside of the schedule. The cost to use the equipment is a nominal deposit. From a parent point of view, the grounds were clean. The pool bathrooms were so-so. The pool was clean, large and great temperature. The landscaping appeared to be kept up. The store prices were extremely reasonable as compared to other places that multiply the prices because they are convenient. A box of crayons .99 cents. Candy bar $1.25. Bag of ice $2.00. Bingo .50 cents a card. Kids bingo buy-in was a candy bar. Just to name a few. The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Quiet hours appear to be respected, at least during our stay. Seasonal residents were friendly and welcoming. We will be returning.

Provided by YP.comI visited the campground Labor Day weekend 2011 after Tropical Storm Irene. They displayed a superb effort in restoring the grounds back to functioning status with minimal disruptions of activities. The campground has a great lay-out and the sites were perfect for a family outing with plenty of grass and shade.
The rules are common to most campgrounds and for campers' protection are strictly enforced. Unless you are a seasonal stay, management is not very family friendly. For instance I witnessed the following staff short-comings:
A staff member’s repeated derogatory comments towards parents and children and was reluctant to perform a hayride.
Also the woman behind the counter in the camp store never made eye contact with any of the customers while I was there because she could not take her eyes off the computer monitor.
More importantly, was the episode where a teenage boy was on a low lying tree branch playing with his younger brother and their friends which was on his campsite and NOT in conflict with Wolf's Den "Campground Rules." The children seemed to be playing nicely with each other, when a campground personnel drove up in a cart and asked him to get down. As the boy was descending from the tree the older gentleman remarked "I hope when you fall, you get hurt!" and drove away. I was surprised by his comment as the teenager was doing as instructed even though he was not misbehaving or in violation of "Campground Rules." The incident impressed upon me a general disrespect for family friendly values.
Overall I do not understand why someone would pay to be marginally treated by campground management and personnel. Maybe they were stressed by the post tropical storm clean up … my opinion is that they are just not a people friendly organization. I will just say “No thank you” to Wolf’s Den Campground.
