Awful, Unprofessional, Rude, and Disgusting.

I went to a professional salon to get my hair colored a chocolate brown and somehow the lady messed it up. There were blond spots showing through in 3 different places. Im not from east lansing but im visiting family. I had my neices graduation to attend so I looked up salons in the area. I showed up to protege academy.. I was scared because,it was a school but the very kind receptionist talked me through how it works and that an instructor was there to help. I got there and was greeted with a warm welcome and was asked if i wanted a beverage. I was never asked that at the other salon. My hair stylist was so sweet, the staff was amazing and the color I left with was exactly what I wanted. When I'm in the area,I will always recommend protege and go there.

I would like to say that protege academy is one of the best places I have been to for hair services in a long time. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and then from there was helped in every way. The student greeted me also in a kind way as well as the instructor. I had a all over color done and I loved everything about it. I was in and out in a very dissent time considering they are students an still learning. I would say if u want great service and a good time head on over to protege.

My hair....looks great. However the process to get this hair was a horrible and it was enough for me to decide to never go back or recommend this place again. Like I said the girl who did my hair did a fantastic job and was very sweet. I went in for highlights. First the student managed to drop the sprayer hose on my chest while she was rinsing out my hair and instead of just turning off the water she kept trying to catch it but it was to late as I was soked from head down to my jeans. Then she managed to get hair dye all over the brand new shirt I was wearing and completely destroyed it. After 3 hrs of this I was ready to go and to top it off I did not get my hair styled because I had been in that chair long enough and when I paid the cashier told me it was $111.00!! Ridiculous for a student job on my hair when I could have gotten it at my usual stylist for 65! Just thought I would give this a chance. After I got home I decided as far as I drove and as much as I paid there is no reason I should not have the shirt the student ruined replaced. I called the school where I was told to come back because they have a chemical that can get hair dye out of my shirt. Well maybe that should have been offered to me the night I was there instead of later on as I do not live in town and I would yet again have to spend more money to drive out there for them to "fix" my shirt. Not happy with the outcome and will never go back and would not recommend it to anyone. For the price and the experience I had there I would recommend unless you know someone just stick to your own stylist.

This School Rocks and is going to be the best this area has to offer in both services and education!
