Dr. Thomas Vergo graduated from the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Buffalo in 1971. He completed a Dental Internship at the Buffalo V.A. Hospital in 1972, followed by a year as a staff Dentist. In 1975, he completed his Prosthodontic training receiving certificates from the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Buffalo and the Buffalo V.A. Hospital; followed by a Maxillofacial Prosthetic residency program at Roswell Park Memorial Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y. Upon completion of his Prosthodontic and Maxillofacial Prosthetics training in 1976, he accepted a full-time faculty position at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in the Department of Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry (formally Department of Restorative Dentistry). For the last 8 years, he was Director of Divisions: Prosthodontics-Fixed Partial Dentures, Removable Partial Dentures, Complete Dentures and Maxillofacial Prosthetics. In January, 2004, Dr. Vergo retired from Tufts as a Professor Emeritus. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he has maintained a part-time private practice over the past 30 years. He holds Senior Dentist Staff privileges at the Tufts-New England Medical Center Hospital. He has lectured locally, nationally and internationally, and he has published 40 articles in various reference journals. Dr. Vergo is presently a member of the American College of Prosthodontics, American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics, International Society of Maxillofacial Rehabilitation, American College of Dentists, and the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics.
