Edward R. Martin Middle School, located in East Providence, R.I., provides an individualized learning program for more than 900 students in grades six through eight. The school offers academic services through a house system that includes freedom, hope, courage and liberty, and has teams of students, teachers, house leaders, guidance counselors and secretaries. It offers extracurricular activities to develop skills and confidence among students in the areas of sports, drama, music and student government programs. Its curriculum includes English, mathematics, science, social studies, foreign language and computer application. Additionally, the school provides physical and health education, home economics, fine arts, library skills training, and band and chorus.
