VERY disappointed. $43.98 (+$10.75 shipping). For a hat you might find in a convenience store for $10.00 (or less). NOT the hat in the picture. NOT as described. Picture shows heavy-duty Shantung Panama (high-quality "straw" cowboy-hat material and weave). I've owned Stetson and Resisitol "Straw" hats, this hat is a cheat, nothing like the real thing!

Had a very bad experience here. spent an enormous amount of time trying to fix it, but in the end hatcountry.com failed miserably.

I'm with WildCowboyChad & WildMare, I too am WILD about Hatcountry. It looks like Daisy D. had a bad experience with the Post Office, not Hatcountry. I've had many orders over the years with Hatcountry and I've always been more than pleased with their customer service. My latest order was for my Father. I wanted to get him a light colored hat for Summer. It was out of stock in the color I selected. I received an e-mail about the backorder with a similar color to switch to. I OKed the switch in colors and the hat shipped out the next day with tracking! I'll be back again this Fall for myself. Definitely recommend Hatcountry.com!

Terrible customer service representative, was very rude and not helpful whatsoever! I ordered a hat that was delivered to a city that is 4 hours east of where I live, the post office couldn't help me because I was not the sender. So I called Hat Country the customer Service agent at fist basically said I was lying and that it would be impossible (as she said) that my package was delivered to a wrong address. After numerous phone calls I convinced her to call the post office, which she said she did but lied, because the post office had no record of her calling. Later we conferenced called the post office and the post office agent gave information that totally contradicted what Hat Country was saying. In the end I had to find my item myself, with no help from Hat Country, they still have not tried to offer a solution or a simple apology.



To sum it all up, the customer service is NOT customer service, they do not try to help the customer, they are rude, and do not understand the idea of what a customer service agent's job should be!

Wow! These guys are the best. Largest selection I've found. Almost too many to choose from. They really know their hats. The site was easy to use and checkout was a breeze. My hats came before the estimated 2 week time frame, well packaged. I was so happy with my order that I placed a second order for some Scully shirts and a pair of boots. Again everything came quickly and in great shape. I get lots of complements on my hat. I always send them right to Hatcountry.

They're wonderful!!! I recently purchased some hats from Hatcountry.com for my friend's bachelorette party in Nashville. Hatcountry.com was very helpful when it came to finding our size and the right hat style. Since I always leave everything to the last minute, Hatcountry.com expedited my order. I got them just in time. We had a ton of fun and everyone we met loved our hats!!!

Open letter to HatCountry:



The first hat was exchanged because it was defective. The second hat was even worse than the first, yet you refuse to exchange it. You claim the warehouse will not authorize an exchange, but you are the seller doing business with this warehouse and as such, you are ultimately responsible for the decisions that affect, and the product received by, the customer.



The brim is misshapen; you suggest I reshape the brim myself. I did not pay $120 for a hat that I have to shape myself.



You claim these "small holes" are pinholes. As I wrote in my previous email, these are not small holes--these holes look as though a bug chewed on them. Additionally, there are over a dozen of these holes in the crown of the hat, as you can see in the photos I sent.



As I also wrote in my previous email, I do not expect a 1 BU shantung but, for the money I paid, I expect more than a hat with holes and a lopsided, frayed brim. If this was one of the shantung cowboy hats you sell on your site for the same price, these flaws would not be acceptable, and you know it. Why is this acceptable to you just because this particular hat is a fedora?



Why does this sorry excuse for a hat not look like the one in the picture on your website? I don't see pinholes, frayed edges, or a misshapen brim in that picture!



Shantung is not even natural straw, much less Panama straw, as you keep trying to tell me. There are hats that are referred to as "Shantung Panama," but that refers to the style of hat, not the material of which it is made. You shouldn't be selling hats if you are not aware of this simple fact. Shantung is man-made paper fiber, and the flaws in this hat are the result of man-made errors, not any unique, natural properties, as you claim.



So essentially, I am ripped off for a restocking fee and shipping costs because you don't know anything about hats...
