Egon Ehrlinspiel began the tradition in 1973 when he opened his own studio in the heart of historic downtown Syracuse. Trained by Europe's most prestigious master jewelers, Egon is an expert craftsman and renowned gemologist with more than 50 years of experience and over 25 years serving Central New York. Egon offers a level of expertise and craftsmanship you won't find with any other retailer. Though often imitated, never duplicated there's still only one Egon Ehrlinspiel Arlene Ehrlinspiel, our in-house designer was trained by several designers world-wide and has received international designing awards. Like all of our highly trained gemologists, Arlene is also a recipient of Gemological Institute of America ( GIA ) Diamond Certificates. She has been part of the EGON EHRLINSPIEL family of jewelers for over 20 years. David E. Martin, Egon's grandson, holds the highest level of professional training in the jewelry business: a Gemologist Institute of America ( GIA ) Graduate Gemologist Diploma that he earned in residence in Santa Monica, California. David is also a member of the International Society of Appraisers. David hand picks the diamonds of highest quality and value from diamond manufacturers world-wide. David grew up in the business and was destined to carry on his grandfather's tradition of only selling jewelry of the highest quality with the greatest value, putting the customer's needs first.
