Provided by YP.comI have had experience with Ski Company for several years in the capacity of ski instructor, race coach and consumer. There have been very few times, if any, that were positive. Many of the staff don’t seem to have proper knowledge of their product and will sell you equipment that is not appropriate for your needs or abilities. This year I had a salesman tell me that the ski I presently ski was a flimsy, woman’s ski when in fact it is a slalom race ski.
My husband and I went to the sale at the fair grounds and he was interested in an intermediate level ski that would help him achieve the next level. The salesman there showed him a ski that would do so. We were told it contained titanium and was the best bargain on the rack. My husband not being knowledgeable about the different properties of the ski placed his trust in company representative. He felt excited about getting a good price on an advanced level ski. Afterwards we took a trip to a professional ski shop in the Lake George Area and noticed the skis he had purchased were on a rack at the same price as the ones he had bought at the ski sale, supposedly at a sale price. This made us curious as to the quality of the skis being that they were at the lower end price scale compared to the other skis on the rack. We then asked the salesman about the properties of the skis only to find that the skis we were purchased did not contain titanium and were considered a beginners ski which made my husband very upset..
We then looked up the ski on the atomic ski web site and did fine out that it was a beginner ski. I brought the ski back to the store and spoke to the manager and explained that their company representative at the fair misrepresented the product and we did not purchase this ski that he led us to believe we were purchasing. My husband was very upset over this and wanted our money back. He only purchased the skis believing he got a good price on an intermediate/advanced level ski but was misled. The manager tried to convince me that it wasn’t a beginner ski and refused to reimburse the money I paid for the skis even after I told him I had researched it on the atomic ski web site. I had no choice but to invest even more money to acquire the skis I was promised in the first place. .
I will never shop there again and will drive to Queensbury, New York or Ithaca to get my ski equipment as they have reputable ski shops that have knowledgeable staff who work with you to get you the right equipment.
