Provided by YP.comAs a social worker i know that it is hard to say that you have found perfection in a school program but I can honestly say that this program is perfection for my family. I have had both of my boys go through their program and over the past five years i have not experienced anything other than top quality education. Work and Play provides a safe and structured environment where my children learned something new everyday and were always eager to come home and talk about their day. I have never had either one of my boys come home with a complaint, yes you heard me right, with my oldest now gong into third grade I know this is unheard of. Not only does the program provide you with every opportunity to be part of your child's learning by having events at the school, and sending home monthly newsletters with their curriculum, but they always teach their students to be eager to learn and to see learning as fun. They have a vast majority or dramatic play opportunities which the children love, and the most amazing outdoor play area to build on their gross motor skills which i think is of great importance. Work and Play is superb in their teaching of social development, they have their own language and it is amazing. The children from day one learn to express their feelings with their peers in a kind and respectful ways, every day i am there i can here them working out their differences and this is critical for ongoing social development. As a parent and a social worker I have never had a concern for my child's academics, learning environment, or supervision. If you are looking for a school where every single teacher from the director down is 100% invested in your childs well being, where you find structure but yet still compassion and caring, then this is the school for you. They have become my family and we will greatly miss them.

Provided by YP.comMy son attended the Work and Play School for two years (ages 3-5). The curriculum provided him with a top notch preschool education. He learned his letters, numbers, to write his name and to interact with the other children is a positive manner. The teachers treated him, my husband and my daughter like family. It was hard saying goodbye to them when my son graduated this past summer to go on to Kindergarten. If you are looking for a quality preschool education program, a great outdoor play space, caring and compassionate teachers and a really competitive price, I encourage you to speak to the school's director, Ms. Betsy. She and her staff are truly one of a kind.

Provided by YP.comIt is hard to find perfection in any program and I truly feel I have interviewed most if not all the preschool programs in my area and when I walked into Work and Play School I had this gut feeling I found the perfect second home for my children. As a child therapist I am beyond picky and critical of the individuals who care for my children. At Work and Play I cannot find one flaw. I find the Director, Betsy, educating me and helping me grow as a parent. I enjoy and adore the Associate Director Ms. Stephanie and love how much she dedicates herself to each individual child. Ms. Sarah and Ms. Geralynn are truly a blessing to this school. Everyone is beyond qualified and works here because they love what they do and it is obvious when you enter the school. The teachers provide a safe and nurturing environment for all children. My son completed his preschool program this past summer and has entered Kindergarten with the necessary skills to be successful. Work and Play nurtured his already inquisitive mind and allowed him the opportunity to grow not only educationally but also personally. I love this program because it intertwines some of my core values. I want the strongest academic program for my children; however more importantly I want my children to be good people. Work and Play teaches children problem solving skills and compassion. No child is yelled at or reprimanded in a negative way. Each mistake a child makes is truly a learning experience for the child and the mistake is processed and solutions are explored. Children are given opportunities to learn social skills that will help them to rise above negativity later in life and be kind adults. In a world where violence is a very real reality in our schools teaching kindness, empathy and compassion should not overrated. Enhancing the strengths of each student is so important to keep that natural inquisitive mind going as children want to learn and sometimes it is the adults who deter them by accidentally undervaluing the importance of modelling love and respect. I am heartbroken at the thought of one day not walking through Work and Play’s doors. My husband and I are delaying a move out of town so my daughter can complete her preschool career. My daughter is currently in PreK 3 and thriving. She started a week after her 3rd birthday and within a month her language skills and comprehension skills ignited and my curious and fiercely independent child is flourishing. She is learning how to harness her will and develop into a positive leader one day. Other schools may have viewed a strong willed girl as defiant and bossy; however Work and Play saw these as strengths and help guide her to use these positively. If we all were taught kindness so directly and kindness weaved into everyone’s education one has to wonder if the violence in the world would begin to decrease and if our children would become safer. Outside of the social skills curriculum Work and Play helps children meet the common core standards. I really enjoy watching my 3 year old read sight words, identify letters/sounds and do basic math! I wish all school’s would model after Work and Play. It is a wonderfully accredited program at a very affordable price. You get so much more than an education here. You get a second family.

Provided by YPmobileI am thrilled with the quality of care my son is provided at Work and Play School. From the highly personable staff, exemplanary educational lessons taught to the feeling of overall comfort and trust I have with the facility; I would choose no other preschool with shaping my child's future.
If you're looking for top level care and teachers you can trust in a clean environment, Work and Play School is the only one to choose.

Provided by YP.comThis a fantastic pre-school. My daughter attended for 3+ years and loved every minute. The staff is wonderful and caring (with very little to no staff changes) and the environment is friendly, playful, and highly educational. Although we were happy when our town instituted full-day Kindergarten, it was bitter-sweet that our daughter would no longer attend Work & Play! More than 6 months since her last day, she still asks about Work & Play, talks about her teachers, and stays in touch with friends she made there. This daycare/pre-school truly helped my shy little girl develop excellent communication and social skills and greatly prepared her for the success she is now experiencing in public school. I highly recommend Work & Play for any parent looking for a safe, positive, nurturing environment for their child.

Provided by YP.comThis is without a doubt the best preschool in the East Windsor CT area. The staff are well educated, caring and strive to create a positive, friendly environment for their friends, the children. There is very little staff turnover, and a low student/teacher ratio. The teachers are engaging, and make learning fun and interesting. My children are excited to come here, and I am happy too because it's nice to see smiles and waves rather than tears at drop off. There is a fantastic, large play yard for the children to run around, play and explore. The staff has always been available to answer any questions I have regarding my children's development, and they genuinely care about their well being. I don't know what I would do without the school and its' staff...they have become like our extended family. We consider the school a "home away from home" and it feels great knowing that my children are safe and very well cared for during the day.

Provided by YP.comWhen your child comes home from school and you take a few moments to sit back and just watch them, really watch them, you start to notice things you may have missed in your busy everyday life. Maybe you notice they have learned to share or work cooperatively with other siblings or friends, that they use their manners even though you are not whispering them in their ear, or that they are the first ones to run and help another child or adult if they are hurt or sad. A big part of their newly developed skills I believe have come from the teachers at Work and Play School, no let me rephrase that, the family they have acquired at Work and Play School. Children tend to pick-up what they see around them. Teachers at Work and Play School are not only family to the children, but role models. When a child sees a teacher constantly helping others, hugging a child with just the tiniest boo-boo (hoping it will make them feel just a little bit better), showing how communicating without yelling makes for a better outcome, and willingness to give-up there own lunch for a child who spills theirs on the floor or accidentally leaves it at home, these are the things that make an impression on our children. With the cost of living constantly rising, so is the cost of providing for our children. I am so grateful for Work and Play School and the extraordinary care they put into everything they do, and extremely reasonable price for such exceptional care.

Provided by YP.comThis preschool is quite simply the best around. I searched for months looking for the right school and was so fortunate to find this one. The staff is well educated, affectionate, extremely hands on, and there is very little turn over. The atmosphere is so pleasant and inviting, and the outside play area is one of the most beautiful and spacious playgrounds that I have seen. My daughter has learned so much and can't wait to go to school everyday. Work and Play School is exceptional...I can't say enough good things about it!

Provided by YP.comI know my daughter is in good hands while I am at work. The director is hands-on. The teachers are well-trained, knowledgable and caring. I love the low child to teacher ratio. In addition to the usual developmental, cognitive and motor skills, my daughter is learning social skills and about respect and kindness.

Provided by YP.comThis preschool is quite simply the best around. The staff is friendly, knowledgable and takes the time to learn each child's strengths and weaknesses in order to provide a customized curriculum. I wish the administrators from public schools would come and observe this school--they would learn a lot! I highly recommend this pre-school!

Provided by YP.comWork and Play School is truly a parent's dream. Finding a center that models the importance of communication, academics, social and emotional skills through play while allowing a child to be a child is rare. This learning center is a diamond in the rough because of its dedicated and highly professional and certified staff, as well as its commitment to the children and community. I've paid more to put my children in a "chain" center and would never do it again.
