Intra-State Moves - 40 Miles and Above Within the State:Charges for services are in a manner very similar to the one used for interstate moving, described below. If you are moving within the state, be sure to find out which pricing method is used.Interstate Moves:Interstate moving services are another matter entirely, since interstate transportation is regulated by the Department of Transportation and are based on published tariffs. There are five elements that have been figured in pricing an interstate move.Transportation or Line Haul:The amount is based on the weight of the shipment and the distance from origin to destination. Most moving companies will charge based on a minimum weight of 2100 pounds in the summer and 1500 pounds at other times.Accessorial Services:These are additional services available such as extra pickup or deliveries, stair carries, appliance servicing, or bulky item handling. In some congested areas, such as New York City and other large cities, there is an additional transportation charge due to the added time required to maneuver a large van.Packing and Unpacking:Each new container or box is priced differently and is based on size and function. Used containers are generally available from a mover at a minimum or no charge. In addition, there are published hourly rates for packing and unpacking services.

On Friday July 28, I was leaving my community where a moving truck with the name Harry Kies on it was blocking the exit and preventing me from getting on the road: creating a dangerous situation: After a beep the horn the driver came out and ran around my car slamming his fists into the sides of my car; I would think twice before using this moving company.

I had a confirmed appointment within a 4 hour window with this company for a simple move. Once the third hour approached, I called them just to make sure they were still coming. His response was that they weren't making it over to me today; but "maybe tomorrow". MAYBE??? REALLY?!?? I told him "tomorrow" wasn't an option because I took off from work to be home in order to have everything ready; and it was supposed to be TODAY, not tomorrow. Not only did he brush me off with his "oh well, too bad" attitude, he really and truly did not care about it at all. With that being said, this is not the company to call at all; so don't even waste your time. In fact, AVOID is the better word to use instead of Beware. They don't deserve anyone's business. In fact, they don't even deserve the 1 star minimum that I'm required to submit this review. So do yourself a huge favor and go to a REAL moving company that really wants your business, not someone like this guy who can care less about wasting YOUR time by being a "no show". And to think, I had to call THEM to find out they weren't coming; so what does that really say? That alone says more than enough.

What a great company. Extremely professional workers. They moved quick and were very careful with my property. When I had a billing issue the owner was quick to get involved and help. Thanks guys!

It's interesting how the past eleven five-star reviews are all by the same person on the same date. Movers, beware!

BEWARE! The movers were definately efficient, however, while they were still moving our belongings into the truck, my husbands' Rolex watch went missing. We informed the owner as soon as we realized and he was less than helpful about the matter stating that he runs background checks on everyone he hires. After checking through all of our boxes and offering a $1000 reward with no questions asked, the owner finally stated that he should have asked his guys to empty their pockets on site. We called Arpin, the head company, for assistance, but they were unable to provide any because even though the Arpin name is used on his truck, the company is listed under Harry M. Kies. Police are currently investigating this matter--I recommend finding a different moving company.
