Provided by YPmobileWhen advertised Adoption Fee Waived for VETS, do not believe. They would rather make a buck then send an animal home with someone who is more than capable of taking care of it.
When trying to adopt a kitten you are pushed to take two.
Manager will not return phone calls. NEVER GO THERE!!

Provided by YPmobileMy husband and I are looking to adopt a dog. We visited the spca today after going online and seeing an adorable pitbull by the name of corolla. Reading the description of him seemed very pleasing the description stated he was friendly and looking for a good home and had a lot of energy. So when the dog was brought out by an employee I anticipated a energetic excites adorable dog but witnessed the complete opposite! The dog lunged at my husband and actually bit him on the arm breaking skin I understand animals are unpredictable but I was completely taken back and shocked! The staff was very considerate and apologized but not sure why this dog was listed as being friendly and a good family dog. This was very untrue and hope the shelter isn't listing false information just to have these animals adopted I left feeling shocked and scared! I am now looking to buy a puppy rather than adopting

Provided by YPmobileI went to the shelter to find another kitten for a playmate for my 4 month old kitten at home. My kitten at home isn't fixed yet because the vet refuses to do the procedure until the animal is 6 months. Therefore they denied my application. The women stated all pets in the household must be fixed already. Then when I spoke with the manager she came up with another reason stating my kitten didn't get her one shot. When I called my vet that to is just age appropriate at 4 months. They still would not secure the animal until I had proof my kitten got the shot 2 days later. No wonder they are so over populated with animals they make it so difficult to adopt and keep turning good potential adopters!

Provided by YP.comI really enjoyed visiting this shelter, I liked how the cats were able to roam free two rooms instead of in a cage. Its a long walk down to the dog cages, but you were able to do a meet and greet with whichever dog you choose and even take it for a walk. On the shelter alone, Id give it 4 stars. The only negative aspect is the rather unpleasant ladies at the front desk which make you feel like you are wasting their time. They were both unhelpful and unfriendly, even to a clearly distraught woman crying about having to put her dog to sleep a month earlier. Dont bother inquiring about a dog at the front desk, because they will have no clue who you are talking about. I am a dog lover, who provided a good reference on my foster application. But was denied, and said to have had 'not a good reference'. EVEN THOUGH MY REFERENCE WAS NEVER CONTACTED. How could they possibly know if it was good or not if they never even bothered to contact them? I believe a step in the right direction would be firing the women behind the desk and replacing them with more caring and helpful people.

Provided by YP.comjust tried to call to obtain information on adopting a cat. this lady going by the name of Bonni answered, and just as i was asking for more information on the adoption process she slammed the phone down... fantastic. Hopefully their care for their animals is better then their costumer service.
