I worked here for just a few days and everything this woman has said is true.. Nothing about this place is professional and all the residents are very mistreated I just hope and pray that things change for these people...

The Hope Rest Home is located at 2967 Dunn Road, Eastover, NC 28312 outside of the city of Fayetteville. I was employed there and the conditions are completely impossible to work under, or for residents to live under. Kangaroo employees from the Dunn Road -Murphy Road Intersection have seen residents "pan-handling" across the street for food and have sent word to Hope Rest Home employees to stop the residents from coming to the store begging customers. The food and basic hygiene items that they are begging for should be supplied at The Hope Rest Home... but are not. Residents have been known to visit the neighbors living near or across the street from the rest home begging for items that, as said before, should be supplied at The Hope Rest Home. Residents cannot even get an extra snack or seconds after a meal, even though they are still hungry because the owner (Alina Rippy) does not maintain proper inventory (such as food, laundry or hygiene supplies). A particular resident sets from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in urine because employees forget to look over him. These are all examples of how residents at The Hope Rest Home are not properly maintained or taken care of. Another issue with The Hope Rest Home is the facility. Roaches and other types of bugs and insects are commonly found in the rest home. Flies set on resident’s food before and while it is being served and bugs live in the facility all due to the fact that the owner (Alina Rippy) does not maintain the facility. I have never seen any type of pest terminators out at the facility at any time since I have worked there. Electrical problems exist and the air conditioning is performing poorly causing only the south side of the building to get air conditioning. This also means that not all residents are cool during the hot and muggy days of the summertime. Not all rooms are equipped with fans to keep the residents in the north side of the building cool. To make living even less convenient for residents, there is only one phone line throughout the entire building, which means that residents have to use the business phone for personal calls. Residents, generally, have been living in uncomfortable conditions over the last two years. The kitchen is also another major issue concerning The Hope Rest Home. Now, not only is she the main issue, but she is also the main reason that this “business” is the way it is today. Alina Rippy, owner of the Hope Rest Home has been driving this business and employees into the ground for just over two years, making what used to be known as The Hope Rest Home change into the Hopeless Rest Home. Ever since she took over the business, residents have not gotten any of the proper care that they deserve. Not only does she mistreat residents, but also employees. I started working at the Hope Rest Home on July 28th, 2010. Ever since then, to this day September 17, 2010, I, nor my husband, have yet to be paid. She has pushed back the pay period multiple times since I arrived. As of now she owes a substantial amount of money to my family and I, money that is needed for all household expenses such as bills, creditors, etc. She is an unhonest business owner who sees to only her personal needs and not those of employees or residents. Alina Rippy is known to live in a very wealthy area and also drives pricey vehicles at the expense of employees and residents. This “employer/business owner” needs to be stopped. This business has been running in this condition for way too long and the suffering residents deserve better care. Now tell us, would you allow your confused loved one to live in a place like this? Now would you want an owner like this running a business in your community? This needs to end now and WILL be stopped. The Hope Rest Home has officially become… The Hopeless Rest Home. Residents of Eastover, NC and surrounding areas, please pray for the residents and unpaid employees of this business. Together we can stop this. Thank You!
