Provided by YP.comThe farm/museum is a small compact collection of period buildings, set in a wooded glen. The basic mission is for the education of children, which is laudable, however it is a time capsule for anyone interested in the day to day workings of the family farm of the last qtr of the 19th century. The hands on activities are well planned, and the staff attentive and knowledgeable of the period, and to the needs of the visitor. As a working living history center it has all the trapping of the 1800's, buildings, gardens, animals, blacksmiths hop, woodworking shop, residences, and barn. For the living history buff it is a must see, and to teachers and museum curators, it gives a glimpse of what is possible to help teach the 19th century material culture.
