When we found mold invading the inside of our home, we looked online for information on how to handle the problem. After visiting a few sites, I was sure we'd all be dead within hours unless we paid huge amounts of money for a specialized team of experts to handle the problem.Then we found Tim at Home Spec of NC. He is very knowledgeable and matter-of-fact, and didn't use the scare tactics most other companies seem to thrive on.When we asked Tim what to do first, he recommended tests to identify the types of mold and where they originated. He provided us with an extensive report, including photos, that led us to an easy to understand, step-by-step clean up process that we can do mostly ourselves.Thank you, Tim. You are affordable, trustworthy and definitely an expert in your field.

Tim does an excellent job in every phase of his expertise including home inspections, septic inspections, mold testings and structural reports. He explains his findings clearly to the Buyers both during the inspection and in his written report. He always tries to schedule the inspections to meet the Buyers due diligence time frame. He also does an exceptional job in working with realtors - educating and explaining any questions or concerns we may have. I highly recommend Tim Arn!

Tim does a great job! Not only is he very knowledgeable, but customers find him personable and easy to talk with. He is a one-stop show, being able to do the home, septic, water qualiy inspections at the same time.

I am a Realtor in the Northeast North Carolina area and have worked with hundreds of Buyers. HomeSpec is the chosen Inspection Company on most of my homes. HomeSpec works to inspect and detect any issues with the homes, gives an accurate report and is not afraid to get dirty.....HomeSpec truly works for the Buyer--NOT the agents, and they prove themselves time and time again. In regards to Septic Inspections, they go so far above and beyond some Contractors in this area, by actually digging up the tank, inspecting the lid and the interior of the tank. Recently, HomeSpec performed a Septic Inspection for my Client-it was a Foreclosure. When HomeSpec removed the lid, it crumbled in his hand, and the Contractor found the inside of tank to be "unsuitable", without a few repairs. This saved my Buyer, potentially THOUSANDS of dollars in the long run......because a Septic Tank rarely shows signs of there is a problem until there is a BIG problem!!

I hired Home Spec, Tim Arn, because he was the most qualified. This translated into a very thorough home inspection. It was money well spent in my opinion. I was very happy with the time he spent to explain the different parts of the house to me and the problem that were found. I would use him again.
