The Dukes County Sheriff's Office is a law enforcement agency that promotes public safety, identifies and solves criminal cases and safeguards citizens rights. It conducts several educational programs and awareness seminars regarding crime prevention, Internet security, neighborhood watch and personal safety. Located in Edgartown, Mass., the Dukes County Sheriff's Office maintains a civil process division that executes orders from the courts, including seizures, attachments, arrests, warrants, searches, forfeitures, keepers, escorts and evictions. The office supports a community corrections center that is an intermediate sanctions program and offers services for probation, parole and sheriff s inmates. The Dukes County Sheriff's Office also supports TRIAD, which is a community policing initiative between senior citizens, law enforcement officers and service providers.
