The Center Of Applied Technology-South is located in Edgewater, Md., has an annual enrollment of more than 950 students. Opened in 1977, it is one of the leading technical centers in the United States and serves a range of local and alternative high schools. The center offers educational services to students in grades 9 through 12. The Center Of Applied Technology-South organizes a variety of extracurricular activities, such as summer camps, tours, open houses and parent meetings, as well as the fundamentals of technology program. In addition, it supports an employability skills program that includes resume writing and mock interviews. The center employs over 35 full-time classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, work study coordinators, counselors and support personnel.
