I had recently moved to the Rio Grand Valley from Alabama and was searching for a good pediatrician for my newborn, my toddler and 11 year old. My search led me to Dr. Douglas. She is very educated in newborn care and I was extremely pleased with her skills. She took the time to talk to my older children and was very caring. She listened to my concerns and addressed them all. She is not one of these doctors that gives out antibiotics for every little thing, causing more problems for children. She finds the cause and treats it accordingly. AKC has an in house lab and well child area. They even have a nursing mothers room! I never had to wait long for my appointment. The office girls are also very helpful and kind. Dr.Douglas is very knowledgeable and I highly recommend her for children of all ages. I just wish I did not have to move back to Alabama and leave her. This Doctor is a keeper!!

As a mother of 2 beautiful girls, I always try to provide the best for them and have been coming here since 1998 because the doctors at AKC ARE the best. They give special attention to each patient yet still don't keep me waiting for long. My kids have been seen by all 3 providers, but I especially love the way Deb de la Rosa advises my teenage girls. I would recommend this to everyone I know for the best pediatric service there is in South Texas.

I went to Dr. Douglas for a second opinion about my son's fussiness and diaper area "rash". Our first pediatrician told me to stop reading so much, and to stop being a crazy first time mom...in so many words. He told me I just had a fussy baby and recommended Desitin for his "rash".



Dr. Douglas listened to me through my tears, and was patient and kind. I just knew my baby was in pain, he was not fussy! She proceeded to do an in office test - that helped us to determine that he wasn't fussy at all - that his tummy hurt him due to a lactose intolerance, and we switched formulas. And his "rash" was an infection and needed a stronger treatment.



IMMEDIATLY we saw improvement! That night my child slept 7 hours, then the next almost 8 in pure comfort. He had been in pain for weeks and was unable to get comfortable at all in the evenings, and many days he ached too.



Dr. Douglas and her staff made my feelings/thoughts/concerns feel validated and made this first time mom realize that her intuition is something that needs to be heard!



I have since moved my child's records to Dr. D - and we look forward to being a part of AKC's family!

We just wanted to say how please we are since the change. We've had to call after hours and had the pleasure to speak with NP dela Rosa. She listened to our concerns and directed us in the right direction. Advanced Kids Care is top notch from the front desk to Dr. Douglas.

Dr. Douglas was my husband pediatrician since he was little. So when my husband and I had our first son, Dr. Douglas was our first choice. Generous, kind and big hearted are some word that come to mind when I think of her practice. They truly go out of their way to make sure you children's concerns are heard.

Dr Douglas and all the staff at Advanced Kids Care have been amazing to me and my children. I have been taking my kids there for over 11 years and am still very pleased with the level of health care. They have shown professionalism and kindness. I have recently experienced a horrible accident with my 4 year old son. He received 2nd degree burns on his face and arms. I took him to the office and as soon as we arrived he was treated immediately. Dr Douglas, Mrs Deb de la Rosa, nurse practitioner, and Mrs Iffat Moinuddin, P.A were so kind and trust me when I tell you that in a traumatic situation such as this, it makes a world of difference. The medical assistants worked diligently every morning for a entire week on his wound care and his results have been amazing. My son is healing wonderfully and the scars are bearly visible. I am completely and eternally grateful to Dr. Douglas and her staff. My son may not remember the traumatic process,but my husband and I will never forget how the Doctors and staff handled our situation with such compassion. Thanks AKC.

My story begins w/my down syndrome son born in North Dakota w/heart & other health conditions, we decided to move back home to the valley due to weather in ND since my son was going to need constant Dr's visits. I wz referred to Dr. Douglas from the Minnesota Children's Hosp when my son wz just 1mo old, my son is now 15yrs old, and I could not thank enough Minnesota Hosp for referring me to Dr. Douglas, she's an amazing Dr. there's not enough words to describe how she is, I think 15yrs of Dr. Douglas taken care of my son can speak more than my words. I wish I could tell every step of the story of what Dr. Douglas has gone thru w/my son when he wz little but don't have the space, definitely every step Dr. Douglas treated my son like if it was her family, thank you very much Dr. Douglas.

Being a Mommy of 3,I've visited many Dr's thru the years. Advance Kids Care is a pediatric center that I would recommend to anyone looking for a caring,friendly,comforting establishment. This team on board, work well w one another .Dr. A.Douglas,Mrs. Iffat Moinuddin ( PA-C), and Ms.Debora de la Rosa (CPNP) are ''WONDERFUL''. I love that they treat my kids w compassion. They take the time to ''listen'' to the child and the parent .They TREAT U LIKE FAMILY,NOT A NUMBER''.=) .Thank you!!
