My two dogs were left at Paws and Claws for about 3 weeks, mid-june thru early July, and when we picked them up they were both torn up. My chocolate lab had two swollen, infected eyes and a bite mark on the left side of her face. My goldendoodle had one swollen eye and bite marks all over his body. When we confronted the owners about this they kept denying that there had been any dog fights. They kept telling us that "they never saw any swollen eyes". Our veterinarian confirmed that these were dog bits.

The owners of Paws and Claws Pet Resort were very rude to my wife and I, blaming it on our dogs and then he started cursing for no reason and calling our dogs "psycho".

The owners clearly don't like to take responsibility. They've been on antibiotics and our goldendoodle had to be shaved low to allow the wounds to heal. At least, at LEAST, they paid for our vet bills. But they never told us our dogs were injured, never called us to tell us something was wrong, and never cared.

Loved it here, abd are sending out dog there again. And for those complaining about ticks, common sense would tell you to give your dog flea abd tick medicine anytime you are going to have them around multiple dogs in a country setting. It's not the kennels job to tell you to be proactive and responsible for your duties as an owner. They are amazing here. And even offered to work with our german shepard puppy while we are on vacation. Great people, great place

Infested with Ticks

Hello, We left our dog for a week and she got infested with Ticks, our dog has never had that problem and was clean when we left her, we took her to petsmart and got her medicine, the Ticks are no dying but they are so many that we are not sure how long it will take to have her clean again. is there a place we can report this incident, We didn't call the kennel yet because we are sure they are going to blame it on the dog, same as they didi to you. Our dog doesn't dig is more of an inside dog. her bed that we left had the foam ripped and had to put it in the trash. our dog is not the same and looks sick. I will NEVER take my dog to this place again and if I can report the place to a boarding dept. I will for sure.

mixed feelings

I have to admit that the place LOOKED clean and fun for dogs. The owners were nice and friendly. My dog left with 20+ ticks. They first refused to believe this and then blamed it on my dog's digging habits (she does in fact dig, but does how a dog plays matter if they allow them to go outside where the ticks are?). A vet technician I spoke to said this was a common problem she had heard of with this business.
