I have been a customer of Shoprite in Edison for over 20 years but after my last experience I’m switching to Stop & Shop. I shopped at the store on June 1st and the next day I brought a head of lettuce back to the store which was bad to exchange. My receipt was already in recycling so I gave the person at the courtesy counter my price plus card so she could look up the order. She couldn’t find the order and would not exchange the Lettuce without a receipt. The store manager was also there and agreed. I said are you really going to make me go all the way home to get the receipt out of my recycling for a .79 head of Lettuce? They said yes!!! Well later that day I found the receipt in the recycling and brought it back to courtesy. No apology from the person or the manager for the inconvenience they had put me through. I told them that their management skills where lacking and that I have been shopping in this store for over 20 yrs. and today was my last. And was it worth it to loose a longtime costumer over a .79 head of Lettuce. They just stood there and said noting. I would rather shop at shoprite but I will not stand for that kind of treatment.
