For those of you feeling too intimidated to try an art class, I highly recommend checking out Art Creation Plus in El Cajon. Violet, one of the regular students there, claims this is the best kept secret in San Diego for art training. Why? All of the instructors are not only professional artists, but they also know how to teach practically any style, and know how to teach well. So well that all of their students received blue ribbons at the Del Mar Fair this year! Though each class may focus on a particular style, it really becomes a mixed media class in which the instructor will guide the student through whatever project they would like to work on. Each class has a maximum of 15 students so it is best to call ahead and reserve your spot early. For unusual, unique projects and a staff that cares about your development as an artist, definitely stop by Art Creation Plus and let your creativity run wild!
