I bought a brand new house in 2012. Come 2014, I was about ETS and thought it would be a good time to start looking for property management. At the time there were no reviews for KB, which should have raised a red flag automatically. However, I decided to give them a shot. Worst financial decision of my life. It started with what they said was just a simple repair to to the house. They told me the blower motor in my AC system went out and they needed my permission to have their maintenance department make the repair. What I guess they didn't know, is that I was still in El Paso, and my MOS was 91C which in the lamen, means HVAC technician. So I decided to go and have a look for myself. First thing I saw when arriving to the property, was my condesate pump laying out on the sidewalk. I wasn't notified that they replaced it. When I walked inside the first thing I noticed, was that the unit was functioning the it should. The tenants pointed to the vents by the guest bedrooms, a good distance from the return air vent where the blower is located, and stated that their only complaint was that sometimes a noise comes from the vent. They also said that the maintenance man walked in, heard their complaint, messed around in the furnace a bit, and went back out to his truck and sat around for an hour. To make matters more infuriating, when I tested the condesate pump back home, it worked perfectly fine. The only thing it was missing was a cork or some other floatation material in the floater ring. They charged me $475 for that, and the new one they put back into the unit was $35 online. A standard service call under an hour is usually $100 to simply check everything out. Do the math. When I called to file a complaint, they were very dismissive and apethetic about the whole issue. They gave me a lot of excuses and after continously asking to speak with the service tech who went the property, they said would let me perform all the maintenance on my house if I wanted to. So, I just simply told them that I do not want any of their maintenance personnel to step foot in my house again. Ever since this incident, I have had several issues with KB, ranging from unnecessary maintenance fees, double cleaning fees, missing records for an eight month period, laziness, unprofessionalism, predatory business tactics, and the list goes on. They will sell you with their words, but when you read the fine print, and it may sound nice on paper, but it is completely predatory in nature. KB REALTY SHOULD BE PERMANENTLY BLACKLISTED BY THE MILITARY AND FORT BLISS.
