Provided by YPmobileWorst apartment complex ever! Tried to charge us for carpets that were in better shape when we moved out ~ $1200!!! I attempted to settle with their incompetent staff member who told me they would call me but never did and instead just sent it to collections after we went to visit the complex (a very rude visit on their part with the claim that I am used to the smell of dog pee in my home??!). My dog is house trained!!! The manager was equally as rude. They wiped their hands clean and I got stuck paying a ridiculous fee (and have to dispute the credit bureau to get it off my credit!!!) to renovate their disgusting complex. Living there was just as bad. Rude neighbors, disgusting "landscaping", outrageous utility bills, and a pitiful dog park. Thank God it was only a six month lease. Do not move here!!! Cheap rent is not worth the head ache!!!

Provided by YP.comI've read many reviews about apartments and whenever I see someone overly complaining about one, I write it off and figure that I may have a different experience. Before I moved in I read complaints about roaches, the outdated apartments, and awful management but I decided that those might have been specific cases with bad tenants and I hoped that I would move into Mountain View apartments with a different experience. I however, was very wrong and am counting down the days until my lease runs out. If I could give this place less than 1 star I would!
My complaints with the apartment are as listed:
The Roaches: First let me explain that I live in a one bedroom one bathroom with my husband, my cat, and the family of roaches that lived here before we got here. I am an overly clean neat freak as my husband would say and can't sleep without picking up every last bit of dust and wiping every last counter clean. When I first moved in a doused the fridge, cabinets, stove and dishwasher in bleach and even the appliances out to clean them entirely and clean behind them. I was pretty surprised to find so much dust and to find mail that was marked from 2008! I obviously had done way more cleaning than the management itself had ever done in a few years! Still, we can't seem to shake these roaches. They run through the halls and since my front door is so poorly installed and actually has a good crack underneath it, it's pretty impossible to keep them out. I'm terrified of little bugs but I guess that's just part of the package at Mountain View!
The Kitchen: The kitchen is very outdated and the oven is probably 3/4 the size of a regular one (we had to bend a cookie sheet to make it fit!) The counters are covered in a nasty film that looks like it's out of the 80s that scrapes off. The cabinets are outdated as well and are poorly installed. Most of the doors hang crookedly in my kitchen and squeak furiously when I try to shut them, although none of them close all the way. My utensil drawer broke the first week but I fixed it myself after months of unreturned calls to management.
The Paint: The paint job awful, they didn't tape anything off and so there's paint on the side of the stove, on the baseboards and "wood" floors throughout the apartment, on the windows, on the side of the fridge, on the bathroom mirror, on all the light fixtures, in marks under the sink and around corners everywhere.
The “Upgrades”: Before I moved here, agents in the front office ranted and raved about all these updates, like NEW WOOD floors, NEW SHAG CARPET, a tiled shower and blah blah blah. These supposed new floors are actually a stick-on laminate that is stamped to resemble wood grain. It is not even the imitation wood floor that snaps together, which would even be better. The wood peels up EVERYWHERE and where it does peel up, it collects hair and dust because all the sticky side is exposed. The great NEW shag carpet is obviously not new, because when I moved in, it had a giant bleach stain on it in the bedroom and an even more giant red stain in the living room. It is not even properly tacked down and all the tacks are exposed where it meets the wood in the bathroom and I have cut my feet on them many a time! (Continued on next 2 posts)

Provided by YP.comThe Bathroom: My bathroom sink leaks terribly and the stopper was broken since move-in. I set a measuring cup under my faucet and it leaked more than 2 cups in one minute! Of course, all that came out of OUR water bill for a year until it was finally fixed. The pipes rattle and vibrate so loudly that we have to blast every faucet in the apartment for at least ten minutes before the noise goes away. Last week we actually timed it starting at 10:26 pm and lasting until 11:13 pm, then again around 4 am for an hour. It is exhausting when it happens, which is everyday and at random times during the day.
Shoddy Workmanship: My windows have broken screens and they let in a draft, and when it is windy outside my windowsill is coated with red dirt that comes in because the window is so off balance it doesn't shut all the way. My bedroom door is off-kilter and also doesn't shut all the way. A blind baby could have done a better job installing it. The deadbolt on my actual front door does not even lock, so we decided to just get a chain on our door along with the regular door lock.
The Price: We pay $620 for a one bedroom with a little over 600 sq. ft. The utilities/water are paid directly to management instead of the actual companies. This is very shady and I would rather see exactly what I use as compared to paying a percent of what the whole building uses because management could be making up any number they want! When I first moved in, management quoted that the utility/water bill would not go over 50 in the winter and 75 in the summer. During the winter it stayed at about $35. The first few months of summer it ranged from $63 to $65. My husband and I haven't changed anything we have been doing in those last months, not turning the AC off and on, and leaving it at about 73 degrees. We both hardly even take showers here because my husband showers at work after PT and I shower at the gym everyday after I workout. Still, the bill this month was $85! How in the world could it jump $20 extra?! What is more annoying is that when you pay your rent online you have to pay a $1.95 service charge. Then, whenever they decide to get around to sending out the utility/water bill you have to pay it plus another extra charge. They NEVER once have had my bill out in time to be paid with the rent in the entire time that I have lived here! Believe me, you can find better prices for an apartment with better conditions at many other places.
The Building: You have to go to the management office to drop off outgoing mail. Shoddy workmanship is shown throughout the buildings, there is a giant eyesore on our floor where a wall has been smashed through and all these pipes and gauges are exposed. The halls are also infested with roaches, beer cans, the flyers that solicitors cram in our door seams and other random trash. Although websites and management also boast their 8 laundry facilities, there are actually only 1 or 2 laundry rooms per building to share! The dryers are often out of order and tenants sometimes just leave their clothes in there for hours so that nobody can do their laundry. You can't refill your laundry card outside of office times because the machine to do it is inside the front office. Good luck catching them when they're not at lunch, which could be at anytime. You should just go to Lone Star to do laundry. Although there is some covered parking, it is mostly always taken up and I often see students parked here coming back from Southwest University and leaving after school! If you don't park under the covered parking, you're exposed to the foul balls that the ballpark across the street hits. My husband had his car dented from one. Our neighbors have lots of parties and cars take up all the parking. I have had 2 dents in my car from people opening their doors and hitting my doors. I also have had my antenna of all things stolen from my car. (Continued in next post)

Provided by YP.comThe Management: They rarely answer phone calls and are hardly in the front office. Anytime I have ever needed anything repaired I have had to leave multiple voice mails, fill out multiple complaints through the online maintenance sheet, and come in person. It took all Summer to get my oven fixed and the maintenance men were the friendliest men around, genuinely trying to help and find the problem. However, the appliance was so cheap that they had to come back and fix it 3 times in one week before management finally gave the okay to give me a NEW appliance (I actually had the honor or getting an even more grimy and dented up but thankfully at least functional oven from an upstairs apartment.) They charge $500 for one tiny cat. That price is unheard of! My friend lives in a brand new apartment that only charge $100 for a deposit and $100 for a fee. The biggest complaint I have with management is that they choose to come and go in my apartment as they please. I completely understand that they have the right to inspect as needed, but it is becoming ridiculous and feels like an invasion of privacy. My husband and I will come home and find boot prints throughout our house randomly and will look around for a slip that says why they came in but will find nothing. Sometimes I leave my bedroom and bathroom door closed just to see if anyone came in and sure enough they'll be wide opened when I return. Sometimes when I shower I like to leave the chain off my front door so that if my husband comes home early he doesn't have to wait for me to get out to open the door. However, it makes me weary that management might just pop in when I don't answer the door and invade my privacy completely. I had my grandparents staying with me for 2 days last Summer and let them rest in my room while I ran errands and when I came back they said that 2 women and 1 man from management let themselves in and were really embarrassed when they realized they didn't notice my grandparents there. They didn't even explain why they came in or if they would come back. I totally understand when they leave notices for pesticides and for inspections, but to just come in without any notice is beyond infuriating!
Please heed my warning and do not write this review off! Take your money somewhere else for you and your families' sake! I would not recommend this apartment to my worst enemy.

Provided by YP.comWe rent a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment. The size is decent, we have wood floors and a fireplace. I feel like all we have done is hemorrhage money, though. I was told completely different numbers over the phone and through email. When we arrived we had to pay almost $800 to move it, that is $200 more than our monthly rent. We had to pay $425 for our cat! I'm sorry, but I've never heard of a place charging that much money for a pet deposit. The online rent pay is awful, it never shows the amount you owe. We moved in a month ago and our dishwasher has been leaking/broken since day one. We've complained every day, and no one has come to repair it. This place is very expensive, and we were told that they had 8 laundry facilities. The closest one I could find is two washers and two dryers that are shared between maybe 30+ apartments. We go to a laundromat instead. They have designated areas for your dogs. Little areas fenced in with grass. I also don't think they even enforce their breed restrictions or weight limits. I've seen pit bulls and great danes here. So, all dogs welcome from what I can see! I should've kept my mouth shut about my cat and saved myself $425. The complex is noisy, located by a small college, busy streets, and an airport. Overall, if you have plenty of money saved up, I would recommend living here. If you are broke, I'd avoid it. Because they will take everything you have. Also, lie about your dogs breed and weight. Everyone else is doing it.

Provided by YP.comWe lived here for almost 2 years and had a horrible experience our first year. However there is new management who are a lot nicer and more helpful! Since under new management i have enjoyed our time here. I have had no problems since than. The only thing is the machine to put money on your laundry card is in the office and when they close you cant get to the money machine in time to put money on your card. I wish the machine was in the laundry areas. other than that my stay here since new management has been a good experience. If i was asked before to recommend this place i would say no but now i say yes because of new management and how nice they are!

Provided by YP.comI love living here mostly cause it is quiet and safe. We have covered parking and 2 large pools. I like that we always have hot water all the time. I lived in a property that had issues like that pretty often in the past. The residents are really nice and friendly. I like the people that work here they are very nice.

Provided by YP.comMy experience here at Mountain View has been great. This location is perfect for my needs. The office staff has always been very nice and quick to get things done. The maintenance staff has been friendly and the property is well maintained. My apartments is very nice and I love the square footage. It is safe and quiet here which is very important to me and its pest free. If your looking to move in the area than I recommend living here.

It used to be nice at one point in time and even management was nice and would get things fixed... now with the new owner and new "managment" if you wanna call it that (a bunch of young girls on a power trip) nothing gets fixed roaches all over the place and rent keeps goint up but the place is going down! MOVING OUT AND NEVER GOING BACK NOT EVEN FOR A VISIT!!!! the place is falling apart literally!!

Provided by YP.comThe building's roaches and the company never fixes the issues you have... they would charge different rates to people the longer you live here the more you pay!!!! Utility bills range and will start out small and end up outrageous. The office staff is unreliable and promise to fix or do things that never get done and they are very rude. Moving in was the biggest mistake I have made since moving to El Paso.
