Provided by YPmobileI took my mom to this office after being recommended by someone who had had a good experience with then.
First I didn't like that the reception person ignored my mother when she spoke to her in Spanish ( the girl spoke it ) , two they were not very happy that they couldn't get us to spend more than the 40 dollar copayment my mom has and three it took them three weeks to get me her glasses , I had to call them more than once to see what was going on!! I just didn't like them at all..

Provided by YP.comThis office is equipped with state-of-the-art computers, with which the doc uses to examine me... Really impressive, seeing how most office do everything manually! Dr. Hsieh explained every step of his exam, which I appreciated, and I left a more educated patient. Staff is professional and very knowledgeable... HUGE selection of designer eyewear (didn't expect that!), which I usually find in SF (where I usually get my glasses). Makes it so much easier for me now since I live in East Bay. Would recommend to anyone!

Provided by YP.comFirst of all, let me say that I was not expecting such good service! Not only was each staff member friendly and professional, they go out of their way to make you happy. I must have spend well over an hour picking out my perfect frames, from all of the selection they have (and with me being so obssessive), but we definitely succeeded in the end. During the eye exam, Dr. Hsieh was smart and informative, never going on without explaining patiently each step of the way, which I truly appreciated. A very family-oriented practice, where I would trust bringing my wife and kids. We'll be back!! Thank you!

Provided by YP.comI went to El Sobrante Optometry and the staff was extremely rude to me (I have medi-cal) I don't expect them to treat me like the first lady, but they totally treated me wrong. When other patients came in the staff treated them so happy and they were laughing. They didn't pay any attention to me until it was time for my exam one of the ladies latina by the way called me and took some sort of exam and told me to go in a room. Then when it was time for me to choose my glasses some asian guy took out a black box and said these are the frames medical covers and just sat there looking at me. When I came in I saw them helping another customer and they were choosing frames for them saying how good it looked and laughing and flirting. I used to work for an optometrist and I know in many seminars they or even the doctors advise you not to spend so much time with medical patients but I never treated them like that. We are all the same and at that time I was less unfortunate and couldnt afford a payed insurance. I hope they read this and change, because their doctor is sooo great and he explains everything really well. The staff just has to do the same and realize that although medical may not pay them as well as other insurances, part of why they get a pay check is because medical patients go to their office. They also have reviews in yelp or yalp something like that its on their web site and they erase all the bad comments and just leave the good ones.
