Professional and Knowledgeable , Iwent in to check them out after buying A ruger from Elizabeth City Pawn and getting a price on a Rock Island 45 652.00 for base model, I decided to check out Chauncey's
I bought A Rock Island tactical 150.00 less the found that the ruger I bought in Elizabeth City Pawn for a 100.00 less I will never buy there again, I then bought an ar15 from chauncy's for my wife at a killer deal. I am going back to buy another pistol this week I will do all my gun business there from now on. I have never had a negative experiance there. Some of these reviews I find totally opposite of my dealings.

I went in against my better judgement. I have heard horror stories about this place. They had a gun I wanted so I gave them a shot. Customer service is horrible, well, at the gun counter anyways. The guy with a beard was talking to a couple telling them how Chauncey's sells 2.4 million guns a year, lol. Then the couple was asking a straight forward question about what comes with a particular gun they were going to purchase. Beard guy was blowing them off till he said "are you definitely going to buy", then actually tried to help them after they said yes. Spewing all kinds of bad sales pitches. They leave. I ask to see the gun I wanted to buy, WITH MONEY IN POCKET TO PURCHASE SAID GUN. Beard guy pulls it out I start looking it over. The gun had blemishes in the finish, I point it out and he says it is a dark spot, ok buddy, looks like they tried to spot reblue a scratch. I asked if they had anymore I could see because I wanted to buy one. He starts telling me some bull$hi* about how they have not got any of this gun in since Christmas, and how he would have to go look through 4 storage rooms to find one, probably had to sort through the millions of guns in the back. Dude comes back with a completely different gun than I was looking at. Needles to say they lost a sale, customer, and gained another person telling the community to avoid at all costs. Save your time and money people. And just the final word for people looking at firearms, they try to talk to you like you have never seen or heard of any gun and tell you how they bought the same gun for hundreds more than their price they have on it. OWNERSHIP YOU NEED NEW SALESPEOPLE AT YOUR STORE WITH A SENSE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. The large guy with the horrible neck tattoo is just as bad except he seems like he might actually want to help but is just talking about getting on unemployment when I was in there

Provided by YPmobileOn Tuesday, Sep 27th, 2016, I purchased Item number 222258699482 HP All In One Touchsmart 310 PC at eBay online auctions.
Unfortunately, The Item arrived damaged and unusable due to improper packaging according to UPS damage claims department.. I was contacted by your employee Yokisha who notified me to these findings and that all she would be able do is issue a partial refund of $80.00 instead of the full purchase price of $196.25.
I advised Yokisha that the offer of $80.00 was not an acceptable offer, and that I am requesting a full refund because of the findings and evidence UPS has showing your company as liable for the damaged items. At that point she became argumentative, irate, and disrespectful towards me. I am not one who likes confrontations or feel that she has the right to threaten me when I am the customer who is being affected by the negligence of your company or packaging.
Yokisha then started to send me messages via eBay stating that she will not refund the Computer and that maybe I was the one who did the damages to the item.
She then made a statement that was very upsetting and I will attach the messages she sent for you to review. In one of her rants Yokisha stated “That I should be more worried about the Hurricane headed towards my city than a computer” another that she made was

LOL...yea, yea yea. Go pack up and get ready to evacuate. That should be your concern buddy!!! LOL
This is a very serious and for Yokisha to think that a City/State that is in State of Emergency, in which people’s lives are in danger, is a laughing matter she needs to reconsider the type of work that she does because retail or and customer service based job is not for that type of cold hearted person.

Provided by YPmobileMy family and I rented a Uhaul from them and I expected them to be friendly, nice, and professional. I have seen their commercials showing their kids and staff. How they are just one big welcoming family. However, unfortunately this is furthest from the impression I got once doing business with them. The staff (I have no idea which is staff and family, I'll give the family the benefit of the doubt) were flat out rude. It's like they don't even want you in the store and God forbid if you have a child with you. You immediately get the stink look from them and they essentially ask you to leave the store. My child was well behaved, stayed next to my side the entire time, and didn't touch anything in the store. However, we were scooted out the door to leave. It was really bizzare to me how they acted towards my son and I. I would never go back to this place again. It really left me with a uncomfortable feeling. I will never ever go back there for anything.. You couldn't even pay me to go there. It was a very eerie, unsettling, weird feeling. Their staff (possible family) should really evaluate how they treat people. What a shame...

The prices in store are ridiculous, don't try to pawn anything here, haggle isn't a word they understand, they will low ball you and that's firm. My fiancee and I were considering buying a gun here, and after this experience I told him we will NEVER purchase anything from Chaunceys.

Never again will I use Chaunceys as a pawn for a gun again. Payed the monthly fee and some extra when I got behind and wanted to pay on the pawn amount and they would not let me. Could other pay on the fee amount or pay off the pawn amount all at one time. I got the pawn because I needed money bad part is I still needed money to pay off the pawn but needed to do the pay off a little at a time not to include the fee but is not possible here. Save yourself let them put your item out for sale then make offer to buy it back and put it in lay away no more fees and you can pay for it over a slower amount of time(three months)

Was ready with $1300.00 to buy their Colt AR-15. It was an older model used Sporter They typically go for around 1000 or so. What was Chauncey's price that could not be haggled? 2000.00 dollars!!!!!! I was so shocked that I literally just laughed and walked out. What are they thinking? I ordered from Buds Gun Shop online and got it shipped to Weeksville grocery as suggested by one of the previous commenters. After all was said and done I bought a NEW Colt LE-6920 online for 1400.00. Thats a much better model and it was new. All while saving 600 bucks. Chauncey', you are awful!

Despite what some of these other reviews said I decided to try Chauncey's anyway. This place is unreasonable. I made a very reasonable offer on on a gun ($20 less) and the associate named "Tomy" wasnt having it. If the gun wasnt for a gift that I had to have that day I would not have bought it. I hate feeling like spent to much and that is deffinitely how I felt from this place. They may have $20 bucks more of my money now, but they wont see another dime of it ever again. Sucks for them because I buy lots of Sporting/Gun items.

The people are nice enough an usually fairly quick to assist you but the prices are way to high for it to be called a pawn shop. I looked at two items, One was a Remington 870 stock and fore-end and the other was a Hi-Point 9mm. The 870 stock and fore-end were $40 higher than suggested retail and the lady would not budge on the cost. The Hi-Point 9mm was $229, suggested retail of that gun is $179. You can get it from most places for even less than that. Most notably from Buds Gun Shop for $169 w/ free shipping. $25 transfer fee to Weeksville Grocery and your still ahead by $35 Bucks. I tried to haggle on that but "Tony" made sure that didn't happen. Needless to say, The only way I will ever go there, is in case of a Zombie Apocalypse. If only they were more reasonable, It really is a shame.

Just turned 21, walked in there with my permit to purchase, found the gun I liked....$100 higher than suggested retail. After standing there for about 10 minutes while an associate pointlessly chatted with another, a man finally decided to help me. He said, "Make me an offer". I tried to get the guy to knock off 30 bucks. his response, "I don't think there's any room on this one". Well why the hell did you ask me to make you an offer? There are two much smaller "gun stores" in Elizabeth city (Bull Shooters and Weeksville Grocery) and they are both far cheeper than Chauncey's. Needless to say, I will never purchase another gun or anything for that matter from them again. I will now order online and get them shipped to Weeksville Grocery whose FFL transfer fee is HALF of what the much larger, Chauncey's is. Very dissatisfied!

Suppose to be a pawn shop, but turns down reasonable offers of merchandise in store. He thought I was going to buy it anyway, NOT!! Also, tried to feed me a line of bull, didn't realize I had been in before looked at the item and did proper research on it before extending an offer. BE WARE OF THIS BUSINESS!!!

i went in to look around an found it to be a great store with a friendly staff, i was helped an shown around, whatever i ask about it was explained to me in some detail at times, some of the staff wasn't as informed as some of the others but all in all it was a great time shopping, i purchased a tv an put a few X mas gifts on lay a way, was glad to learn there still had a lay a way plan, Not even Walmart has that, so they have my business i love the never pay retail, it said one price an i got them to go lower just by questioning the saying never pay retail, i was told the owner is a old time haggler an love to haggler, hadn't heard that term in years, i really enjoyed that, part,

We love Chauncey's for our gun and music purchases (and whatever else we see there we are looking for). Staff is great and friendly, like family. Prices are less than anywhere so far for the things we have purchased. I think we have purchased like six or more guns (lost count) between my husband and I and will keep going back. Matter of fact, ready for another and heading there in the next week or two. Thanks so much for all you do to make things right and fair!!! Wonderful ethics all around.....

There Car stereo tech does not know what he is talking about and they do a half a** job installing car stereos. They just use electrical tape on every thing instead of butt connectors or solder. Plus they tried to sell a circut breaker to my buddy I went there with, it was rated at 200 amps and the fuse my buddy needed was 60 amps. If you know anything about electronics, you never go above a rating of a fuse already installed, if you need to replace it that is. If you go above the rating of the factory installed fuse you can cause heat damage and possibly wire fires from the wires carrying to much current that it is not rated for. I explained this to the tech and he basically called my an idiot, quite loudly i might add, and that the army taught him every thing he needed to know about electronics. Obviously he didn't remember any of his training. I am a electronics tech in the military currently on active duty and my initial training taught me never never replace a fuse with one of a h
