I worked at West Elizabeth lumber from 1952-57. At 17 years of age I began a apprentice cabinetmaker: union Went to school,studied construction and architecture,wood--working, ...finishing as a union journeyman. Saved $5000 and went to 12 years of school finishing with a doctorate. West Elizabeth lumber made it all possible. Thank you. Bob Hoag and his son Bill, (owners) were wonderful to me.

Very disappointing... I called them asking for help to buy building materials for a project, and at first they seemed willing to help. I sent them a materials list along with my contact information and asked for a callback, but never received a response. Only after days of follow-up phone calls did I reach the sales agent who told me that they would not sell to me because they won't sell retail. Why didn't they have the courtesy to call me back & tell me that instead of wasting my time? Very disappointing....
