Renter Beware -

My partner and I rented a 32 ft class C for the 3 day min to experience it hands on in March 2013. We wanted to see if my partner could drive something that big, and how we would manage with our dog in a small space. We are thinking about buying a class C to travel back and forth to our home in Florida.

The dealer folks were nice, but had just started working with ElMonte RV in the winter of 2013. The unit we got had not been checked out prior to our picking it up, and had major problems including a dead coach battery and a leaking city water connection. If we had been taking a longer trip, I would have taken it back and asked for another rig.

You have to go over the unit like a rental car and also make sure everything in the house part works, with the agent present, before you leave town.

You are renting a vehicle the dealer does not own, and so is not on the hook for problems like Budget or Avis would be.
