This doctor treated me for several years. I went to him not taking any kind of medication. He ended up putting me on nine different medicines that I was taking at the same time. If one thing did not work; he would continue to add more medicine instead of discontinuing what he already had me on. He dropped me as a patient because I missed two appointments. I think that he knew he had gotten me hooked on several prescriptions and didn't know what to do. I ended up having to suffer through rehab.

Not interested in helping his patients find solutions. Prescribes medicines and does not care or want to hear about side effects. Will yell at you if you are five minutes late, even if you have been early 12 times before. Obviously if there is not history of a patient being late and she is late one day there was most likely a problem. I would think a psychiatrist working with patients would be more personable. He wants to work with easy cases. If you have a real mental illness you do not want to see this doctor. He wants patients who come in briefly for Zoloft, then leave him alone until the next time you come in for a refill. If you need real help forget going to Dr. Pointer. He DOES NOT listen to the entire story and he gets angry if you try to tell him things that may help. If you keep a calendar of symptoms for a time line he will tell you to "Get a life." Wow, what a thing to say to a psychiatric patient. He makes being a psychiatric patient even worse by treating us like we have no brain and no value.

It takees longer than 15 minutes to tell some one what kind of mental problem...depression...anxiety..ect. He only hears certain things, doesn't listen to the whole problem. His staff is very friendly, but as a shrink goes, as soon as I can find another one...I'm not going back.
