America's Favorite Neighborhood Pet Center in Elizabethtown opened November 13, 2015 in the Towne Centre, just down from Kroger's. This location is a locally-owned store by Curtis Otjen, a veteran, and his wife, Renee. Curtis, Renee, their nephew, Mathew, and their niece, Amber, operate the store, along with knowledgeable team members, who are as passionate as they are about people and their pets. Renee and Curtis get a lot of expert advice from their golden retrievers, Bailey, Luna, and Gilda and their lab, Savannah. The store partners with local rescue groups, including Hardin County Animal Shelter, the Bun Bun Brigade Rabbit Rescue, Always Faithful Rescue, and Forever Homes For Paws who often host weekend adoption events. Other 501C rescues are encouraged to contact Renee if they are interested in conducting future adoption events.
