We are happy that our kids love this school. We signed the school policy so we shouldnt complaint, since we agreed to it. I dont know why Shelby makes a big deal about it. From what I know, they use the computers for ear training and learning basic notes/chords so the teacher does not have to teach the students (even though the teachers will review it). Something that parents need to understand, group lessons are not private lessons (one on one). These teachers really want their students to look at a music sheet/piece and know how to play and enjoy it, without having a hard time playing it. This is why learning the basic by themselves are really important. If the teachers do all the work for them, then how are they going to learn how to play. Some parents expect too much. Let the music teachers teach. That is their specialty.

I'm so disappointed with this ...

I'm so disappointed with this school and with the owner's behavior when I asked for a refund. I signed my daughter up for the group piano lessons. At the first lesson the teacher spoke to her for a few minutes and then put her on a computer game for a half an hour. Then, for about ten minutes he asked her to play something from her book and the class was over. I wanted to give them the benefit of a doubt so we attended one more class. It went the same way. I questioned the woman at the front desk and she said, "That's not how it usually goes." I asked for the teacher to call me and explain why she'd been on the computer for over half of each class. He never did. That evening we asked to cancel and we were told that we had to give thirty days notice. Now, here I am calling to say I'm dissatisfied and I'm told that I can't even cancel. They did end up cancelling the automatic payment but then when I asked for a refund we were hung up on. The owner, Donna, agreed to meet with us. Once in her meeting room we were shown the contract and told that because we signed it, we'd agreed to the methods listed. She refused to give me a refund. When I tried to explain that I shouldn't have to pay for a service that I'm unhappy with, she cut me off and wouldn't let me talk. She was so rude to me that she even apologized to my daughter who I'd brought with me. All I'm asking for is a refund. I think that's fair and she won't even consider it. I do not recommend this school.
