In 1917, Lester Lawrence came to America with a dream: to establish a successful bakery ingredients business using Old World fundamentals and traditions. Lester and his son, Major, delivered nutmeats and other ingredients to Chicago bakers, building a reputation for superior products and service and honest relationships. In the process, they built a company that is now one of the bakery industry s leading ingredients suppliers. Unlike many of its domestic and foreign competitors, Lawrence does not own interests in orchards or agricultural processing plants.
