Established in 1972, Plastic Components, Inc. specializes in custom designed and engineered plastic parts and molds. Based in Elkhart, Ind., the firm handles matters of in-house tool design, patterns and castings. The various materials used for tooling process includes aluminum-filled resins and cast aluminum. Occupying an area of 40,000 square feet, the firm uses equipment, such as forming machines, computer numeric control (CNC) robotic trimmers and secondary assemblies. The various materials formed out of these machines include rubber, soft touch foam, polyethylene, polypropylene, high heat nylon, plexiglass, laminates to name a few.
