As a mother of 6 I had a problem with Daniel Lyons and getting my deposit back from him. After leaving the property that he owns which is 162 center st. Apt 2 Ellenville NY, in perfect condition he still insisted that we had over 1,000$ in damages. We rented from 11-1-14 to 4-1-15. We did have pictures and would have taken him to court if it wasn't for financial issues. and we are still looking at taking him to court But even before that we had problems with him fixing the property. He lives in Bronx NY and doesn't have a maintenance crew to fix anything. When the bathroom door had broken off the hinges, it took him a month to fix it. And my kids and I had no privacy at all when it came to shower and bathroom using. I had my lawyer to serve him papers. He is also very unprofessional, When I asked him for a written copy of the "damages" he sent me 5 text messages telling me that he is only keeping my deposit but also that I was to pay 600$ more. He came all the way from the Bronx to do a second move out inspection which I know is because he wasn't going to give me my deposit from the first day i gave him the deposit. He made up things that I can prove is not true. We left his house very clean with no damages but a wing on the ceiling fan which is less than 20$. He looked at me and my 6 children and still took from us. And i still will be taking him to court and suing him for the money that is due to me. He is a slum landlord with no ethics or morals and doesn't care about women and children
