Maryland School for the Deaf develops academic and social skills by providing educational, developmental and extracurricular activities. It operates elementary, middle and high school, and is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. It provides education to the hearing impaired children up to the age 21. The school offers various subjects that include English, math, social studies, science, theater arts, physical education, life skills and technology exposition. The school also offers a range of vocational courses, such as computer literacy, graphic arts, masonry, woodworking, business education and job training center. In addition, the school offers after-school activities that include field trips, organization meetings, clubs, community projects, intramural games and tournaments. Maryland School for the Deaf was established in 1868 and is located in Frederick and Columbia, Md.
