The Food Bank for Westchester is dedicated to alleviating hunger in Westchester County, N.Y. The organization is engaged in the collection and distribution of donated, government and purchased food. The Food Bank for Westchester is the supply and support center for more than 150 hunger relief member agencies. It collects food in warehouse quantities, stores and repacks it to fulfill food demands in the community. The organization distributes over 5 million pounds of food, including fresh local produce and eggs. In addition, the Food Bank rescues prepared and perishable foods from local restaurants, institutional cafeterias and supermarkets to feed the hungry.
