I went to Sister Chris Machado for Spiritual counseling at the retreat center, and she was truly one of the worst spiritual counselors I've ever encountered. She was not able to give me any kind of input of any kind, and she seemed to really out of place at being in the role of a spiritual counselor. She seemed much more in her role as a director of The Retreat Center itself then actually giving spiritual direction to an individual. She just didn't have the talent or the capability of doing that.

Also, I found the head sister, Sister Michelle was very cold and had a very bad attitude. I didn't like her at all. Not a nice person.

Since I was there on a longer-term basis, I got a chance to see some of the inner workings and dysfunctions of the people that work at the Holy Spirit Retreat Center.

When I was there, lodging in one of the rooms, I found Sister Deborah to be very cold and rude to me and very judgemental. It was a sad experience for me.

When I found an injured rabbit that had gotten hit by a car at The Retreat Center, I tried to get ahold of sister Chris to help me with the poor animal. Michael, who works at the front desk would that allow me to contact her and was very cold and cruel and didn't care about the animal. Not a nice man.

The head housekeeper, Lucy was very cold and I noticed was only nice to the Spanish-speaking clients so I had experienced reverse prejudism from her.

When an individual just goes there for the weekend, they may not experience all that I have since I was there for much longer. What I discovered is that it doesn't matter that it's a spiritual environment, there are still highly dysfunctional people that work there and the sisters even though they are nuns, that doesn't mean that they are nice or kind. I definitely found at least two of them very cold and not very friendly as mentioned in the information above.

I found that the summertime it is not a good place because it's ungodly hot there and very uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend going there in the summer anyway unless you want to boil to death.

Sadly, I will never go back to this place as a result of that. As well as a few other things.
