Stopped in with my grandsons karate uniform and asked if a achievement bar could be added that day because he needed the uniform that night. I got busy at work and forgot to pick it up. They knew I worked for the town and at closing time brought the uniform to the town hall and asked around until someone recognized the name and called me. This was well beyond normal service. Great people. Thank you!

eware of complicated gowns! Called Gladys' around a month ago about my wedding gown alterations. They never asked about the gown style, had an appointment today and was told the dress was too complicated for them to do. The woman who does the alterations wasn't there (we had rearranged the appointment specifically to make sure she would be) but they said it was too much, they weren't up to it. They are getting 2 stars because they at least admitted they couldn't do it and directed us to Ayten, on Enfield St who took one look at the dress and started pinning, no problem at all. I wish they'd asked about the dress when we called, because I could have told her it had beading and lace on the train and not wasted my time lugging it in and getting in and out of it in the tiny dressing room. very disappointed. Probably best if you stick to basic things with them and not bring them wedding gowns.I'll be bringing everything to Ayten from now on, not here.
