I felt belittle being a customer here as a non Korean (I am the only one there, at the time, who is not Korean. The stylist speaks English fine but she kept talking in Korean language while working on my hair/ makeup). I asked the stylist for style recommendation; she said it depends on me. I thought OK that’s good, I can choose whichever style I prefer. As she worked on my hair, she chuckled/ grinned about the style I chose for my hair.
At one point, she mistakenly addressed me, to my mother-in-law, as a bride (we came in for hair and make up for my in law wedding). I don’t know how big of a mistake that make her lose her face for saying that. She has done most part of my hair, only one side left. She asked if I want to pull them all up. I said I want them up like the other side, she said “you are not the bride” you don’t have to pull it all up. She left one strand of hair on that side. ( I ended up tuck it behind my ear anyway). I feel uncomfortable the whole time there, not as I expected when I go to get my hair and make up done.
I kept myself silent for the sake of the rest of the family on a good wedding day and for the sake of my sister-in-law who booked us this studio. Sometimes one cannot tell a person being nice vs. stupid and abused it. I can feel it the whole time.
I am not even in a lower social standing, Even if I am, which century are we in? I just don’t understand your language, I talked to you politely, it doesn’t mean you can abuse my being nice.
For the quality, I would give it 3 stars for the quality. I thought my make up was a little too dark for my skin, but I didn’t mind that much coz I can easily fix it at home. Coincidently, I also heard someone commented that the groom’s make up was also too dark for his face.
To conclude, no star for the customer service and manner, 3 stars for at least getting the job done.
