American Hardwood Flooring doesn't even deserve one star. If I looked at his reviews prior to hiring him we would have not used them. We called Philip out to take a look at some scratches on our floors and he recommended that we screen the floors. He told us that it would remove most if not all of the scratches on our floors after he puts the refinishing product on them. Philip showed up late and was at our home for less than thirty minutes and charged $1500. He sold us on a more expensive refinishing product that was supposed to not have a smell afterwards. He said it may take a few days for the product to pull all the scratches out of the floor. A week goes by, our house still smells awful and our floors look worse than they did before. We called and asked for him to refund our money because he sold us on something that didn't do what it was supposed to do. After all he has been doing this since 1968 and he should know what he is doing. Philip will say anything to get your business and for a so called man of God he sure doesn't stand by his word

Do not hire this guy! He has no clue what he is doing! He walked off the job and left us with a disaster because we were critical of his shoddy work. He got his 50% down and now we are left hiring a different company to clean up his mess. I thought I could trust Philip but he is arrogant and unprofessional. We have had 4+ people in the industry who have inspected his work and say it is the worst they have even seen. I hope he doesn't rip off anyone else like he did us!

We scheduled to have them come give us an estimate and they never showed up. After they were an hour late we called them and were sent to voicemail. When we got ahold of them the next day they told us they had "made a business decision" that they didn't want our business and since we weren't a customer they didn't need to notify us that they wouldn't be coming, much less express any apology for wasting our time. Should have read all of the reviews before wasting an evening. Unbelievable.

We had Philip refinish our hardwood floors in March and they look great! He was super friendly and ALWAYS showed up on time ready to work. There was an issue with a small part of the floor under the refrigerator but called him and he set up a date to come out and fix the problem. We actually had to cancel on him twice last minute and he still showed up on time to redo the work. We love our floors and have received many compliments on how beautiful they look!!

I am writing in regards to my encounter with American Hardwood Floor company. I called Phillip in regards to a squeak I had in my kitchen hardwood floor. He tried to fix the floor four times without any remedy. After the fix, he then tried to re laquer the floor leaving streaks, debris in the laquer, and now the laquer is starting to peel away.The last time he tried to fix the floor he was frustrated with us and left without even saying anything. I tried contacting him and he has ignored my calls and email.I am in the process of filing a complaint with the BBB in order to try to resolve this. I would use extreme caution in dealing with this company.

I was so impressed with this company and I would highly recommend them. The owner showed up on time for the bid and every day for the work. I love how the floor came out! Philip and his crew were clean, professional, and polite.

The "new" owner, Philip will set a time and not show up. You will wait and wait. I wont get my time back but maybe I can save you from the same experience. I knew there was a reason he wasn't a BBB member. BBB still has him rated at a D-. I bet his father is proud of what his son did to the company name.

I've hired American Hardwood Floor Company several times for installation of new floors and to repair an existing floor. I couldn't be happier! The contractors showed up on time and completed the work on time. I would hire them again for future work.

This person will make promises that he CANNOT deliver!! Very poor workmanship that had to be re-done!! Do not be scammed!!
