Anytime we are in OK, we stop by Big Country. We currently live in Houston and find this to be one of the best meat markets at which we'd ever shopped. The staff is knowledgeable, polite, and helpful. Also, the murals on the building are gorgeous! Be sure to do the Enid mural tour (self-guided) when you visit Big Country! They even shipped the whole femurs for our dogs to enjoy! You won't be disappointed!!!

This entity is well learned in how to steal meat and substitute with less superior product. The meat of a cow they butchered for us had cuts of meat that were a completely different consistency, look and smell. We used them again last fall. Our cow is raised with no hormones and anti-biotic--all natural. The hamburger literally stinks and doesn't even look like fresh meat. It is full of fluid and the smell can be nauseating. Our "sirloin" steaks are just strip steaks and even some of the muscle (roast, etc.) meat has a stench when you cook it and is full of some grey liquid and fat. As we speak with others in the area, Big Country is known for substituting meat for less inferior products. I was not able to find one laboratory in the USA that would test the ground meat for chemical content.
I write this as a warning to anyone who is considering these people for this service. BIG RED FLAG for us: don't use a place that also sell meat!

Excellent processing of half and quarter beef. Excellent options for packaging. Also a great place to get Pullet chickens, fresh side and other fun cuts of meat
