The Ephrata Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that works to preserve peace, maintain social order and safeguard civil rights. It offers services in the areas of accident reconstruction, evidence technician, emergency driving, firearms tactics, arrest control, first aid and verbal judo. The department s patrol division enforces traffic laws, investigates vehicle accidents, conducts criminal investigations and handles the prosecution of criminals. The Ephrata Police Department has a community services division that hosts various crime prevention programs. It supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is a classroom program that helps to prevent drug abuse and violence among children. The department is comprised of more than 50 full- and part-time sworn and nonsworn officers. The Ephrata Police Department also has a support services division. It is located in Ephrata, Pa.
