I received a low income grant through the City of Parsons, Ks for a partial home renovation a few years ago. The City allows building contractors to bid on these types of renovations and obviously the low bidder is awarded the job. I was unfortunate that Larry Ewing of Erie, Ks won the low bid on my home. The quality of his employees workmanship was very poor. Even the work of his sub-contractors (electrical & heating and air-conditioning - done by Barmy Pontius Electrical and David Billing Htg & Cooling, respectively) was poor and faulty. The application of vinyl siding was sloppy and shoddy and the roofing work done has leaked from the day of application. They came back once and supposedly made repairs but the roof continues to leak each time it rains. I complained to the city and they told me to contact Larry Ewing again. I refused to allow Larry Ewing's crew to do ANY further work on my home. Take it from me. DO NOT ALLOW LARRY EWING TO WORK ON YOUR HOME or anything else. I appreciated the grant very much. However, the City of Parsons should be held accountable for allowing such (very) sub-standard contractors to waste the grant money on such poor quality work...
