Very disappointed with lack of professionalism and total disregard to communicate regarding an outstanding project for the company I work for. I've worked with Tom numerous times and assumed this project would run smoothly. We hired Tom in May for a video project, reached out on several channels for updates on project throughout June, July and now August with ZERO response. This is extremely upsetting when we could have went with another videographer to complete the project. Be extra careful when selecting Balos Media to make sure he is able to complete project and maintain simple contact with client. Beyond baffled by the lack of concern for the client and overall company reputation.

Videographer -- B The grooms ...

Videographer -- B

The grooms favorite vendor (other than photographer), was videographer Tom Balos (Balos Media). We had a vision long before the wedding that we wanted our entrance to not be to song, but to video. We wanted a fun, quirky video and that is exactly what Tom helped us produce!! Our friend, Derek Transue, was the amazing director on scene, and Tom was primarily just taping. He didn’t have any additional thoughts or suggestions, he just filmed – which is neither a positive nor negative, but it’s something worth noting if you’re looking for direction. The day of our taping was disgusting and cold out, but he never complained or acted unprofessionally. He even managed to maintain professionalism during our taping, when we were all far from it! At the ceremony he had two cameras that managed to capture everything needed despite hard angles and lots of guests’ heads everywhere. And the reception he got nearly everything in the video. Many guests commented on what a great job he was doing, and one in particular even booked him that night for her son’s upcoming wedding. He managed to be everyone at once, but never in the way. At one point I thought he had gone home because he managed to stay in the backdrop beautifully. All of that being said, when we did receive our DVDs I was less than impressed to say the least. In all honesty, I cried. The audio was atrocious and the video was just good. There were very excessive, drawn out things in the video and some events were not captured at all. I emailed Tom immediately and voiced my concern. He apologized and redid the entire video. The second was much, much better. The audio still is not perfect, but it is 10x better than the original. He also edited much of the footage and added/removed parts as I asked. He blamed the audio issues on the misty ceremony weather and said it messed up the sound for the reception. Whatever the reason may be, I felt like a preview of the DVD would have stopped any other videographer from mailing it out in such a condition. When he mailed the first DVDs out, I ordered 12 copies (all parents/grandparents/bridal party members). Of the 12 copies, three were blank. This is such a silly oversight that just added to my frustration. Even though we were highly disappointed in his first DVDs, we still would recommend his services. He did am awesome job with our entrance video, mingled wonderfully with guests, filmed all the necessary events, fixed any issues we found immediately and his services were reasonably priced.
