Cathedral Preparatory School was founded in 1921 as a Catholic high school for boys. It offers a college preparatory curriculum that includes aviation, English, foreign languages, mathematics, science, social studies, theology and technology. It also offers music, visual and performing arts programs, and a health and physical education program. The school provides a wide range of athletic activities, such as baseball, basketball, cross country, football, swimming, wrestling, water polo, golf and hockey. It organizes various study trips and summer camps for students. Its facility comprises the Hall of Fame, Rambler Bookstore, computer and technology labs, and library and media center.
