Glass House Inn
3202 W 26th St, Erie, PA 16506
In 1955, Mr. and Mrs. George Glass built an 18 room motel named Glass Motel. In 1957, they sold the establishment to my grandparents, Leo and Helen Szymanowicz. They built 12 more rooms and added an enclosed lobby.
My parents Joseph and Fran Szymanwicz then purchased the motel in 1970 and ran it until 1987. The pool was added on their watch as well as many room updates like Erie's first remote controlled TV sets.
In 1987, my husband Tim and I moved into our present position as third generation owners. All three of our daughters grew up in the business and have learned from the ground up, first working as housekeepers then the front desk.
Tim and I feel blessed to meet so many wonderful people. We hope to meet you when you stay at "our house" the Glass House Inn.
